So i just got this email from UCLA talking about summer season with them. Anyone else get this email??

I didn’t get any email like that

No sireee…

no email but I was just looking into their summer session! can’t you take classes there even if you don’t get accepted?

Yes. I’m already signed up for summer school, have an URSA account, and a working UCLA email address.

Summer sessions is open to everyone, so sign up now. If you are admitted, your name will be matched to your admitted student ID number and you will automatically receive the credit. No extra work there.

yep i got the email, but not planning to take summer courses…too expensive! unless i can get finaid? i applied for finaid for the first time last month…does anyone know if it could go toward this summer? or did i need to file fafsa last year in order to cover this summer?

Any clue as to why some people are getting it and others aren’t?

no email for me

I got an email for this, but I realized they emailed it to my @ucsc.edu address (I’m a UC-UC applicant). When I applied to the UCs, I listed my @gmail.com address.

I got it to my @ucsc address too.

ya i am a UC to Uc transfer too

Rpicton, I’ve also registered for the summer class and made my UCLA ID and e-mail address. If I’m accepted, will I be able to keep this existing ID/e-mail account? I was hoping either the Summer Sessions office or the Admission office will be able to merge my admitted student ID number with my existing account I’ve made with them. Do you have any information about it?

Hiroshi66, I’m still trying to find out what will happen to the account, but you will keep your email address.

Any of you guys taking summer session intimidated by taking your first upper-divison course in 6 weeks? Anyone think this is a bad idea?

Not really. 1 class in 6 weeks is a lot easier than 3-4 classes in 10 weeks. I think it’ll help me adjust to the quarter system better.

no but i got an email from UCLA last wk reminding me to submit my transcripts for my regents scholarship application

Oh, okay. Thanks, Rpicton. When UCLA sends the acceptance notices out, who do you think we should take this issue up with? The Summer Sessions office, or…?

Thanks for your help. I appreciate it!

I’m just going to ask URSA [ ursaonln@saonet.ucla.edu ], and also ask to refer me to someone if they don’t know.

Sounds great. When you hear back from them, would you be able to make a note in this topic? I (and other readers who may be curious about what to do in this situation) will be eternally thankful! :D
