sorry, i've been looking through the forum but i'm still so confused!
i'm looking at the assist report and it says:

NOTE : Transfer students who have satisfied the UCLA College(Letters and
Science) foreign language requirement at the high school level through the IGETC
program may satisfy the departmental foreign language requirement with 5 foreign
literature in translation courses.

i took 3 years of a foreign language at my high school (the max for that language), but no ap's for it since there were none available. does that fulfill the IGETC part?

if it does, i have a question about the literature in translation courses. can i just take five of those (or as many as i can) and not take any more foreign language classes? or is it inevitable i will have to take some kind of language in either my current college or ucla (if i do successfully transfer)?
