Reasons you may have been waitlisted: First of all I worry it may be as I am an international student. Besides, I have tecieved a B grade in my english 1A class which is why my gpa is not flawless
First Generation Student: In the states yes, as I traveler here alone. But both ot my parents went to university in Hungary.

Technically, we aren’t supposed to hear back until after June 1st. This is mentioned in multiple sections in the waitlist FAQ’s such as in the “What is the waitlist?,” “What are my chances of being admitted to UCLA from the waitlist?,” and “Are students on the waitlist ranked?” portions of the page. Therefore, we should adopt the mindset of not expecting to hear back until after June 1st.
Personally, I think last year’s cases where they heard back prior to June 1st were anomalies and should be taken with a grain of salt considering people self report information on these discussion pages.

I was peeping some of the other UC threads to see if anyone has gotten out of the waitlist from the other UCs and a person in the UCI waitlist thread said their friend just got off the UCLA waitlist!!
Are you sure they weren’t referring to a friend who is an incoming freshman at UCLA?

Extracurricular(s): one year of research, shadowing at a PT clinic, camp counselor, tutoring, and I have my own small henna art business

Reasons you may have been waitlisted: I did not complete all of the major prep and although my GPA is decent, the major is competitive
First Generation Student: no
Additional Info: coming from a CSU instead of a CCC

They mentioned that their friend is transferring from another UC. It was in the UCI Transfer Waitlist Thread! Not sure if it’s true though …

If UCLA accepts me off the waitlist I’m definitely going there which means that I would lose the $250 at where I’m SIRing now.

If you got into UCLA with the major that you don’t like vs UCSB with the major that you like, which one would you guys choose? Ps. My family likes UCLA. Also, I can always do a master’s degree later…
