<p>In my opinion what makes it official is that you actually have the option to accept on the site. None of the other theories had that option.</p>

Once you log in, you're asked to accept or decline your offer of admission.
Once you click on that link it says at the very top of the page: Newly Admitted Undergraduate Student.</p>
