10c

Yah I think I have already decided on:

History 114A with Landon (History of Rome M/W 4pm - 5:15pm)
and
History 185D with Suriano - new teacher, no ratings…scaaarrrryyy (Ancient Near East Religion T/Thursday 2pm - 3:15pm)

how about you, soph?

how do you figure out what classes you need to take? i am confused.

I’m hoping most history classes will be available by my orientation 7/10 :/

to sweetness

look at the department for your major. they should have a guideline for the courses you need to take. when choosing classes, i think its best to get requirements out of the way like your upper division requirements then do your upper division electives later because you might not be able to graduate if those requirements fill up quickly

I recommend buying a UCLA Catalog. It has all the info you need.
You can view it online, http://www.registrar.ucla.edu/archive/catalog/2008-09/uclageneralcatalog08-09.pdf</a> , but personally I like having a hard copy that I can carry around. It’s only $10.

thanks guys!

Just wondering about the availability of classes with the Cali budget crapola… CSU friends (mostly CPP) couldn’t get upper div classes due to $$ cuts, less classes, etc… How is it at UCs? Did you get what you wanted/needed… and not like at completley ridiculous timeslots or with crappy teachers?

Few classes that I wanted to take that were not available, but I am not sure if there was a cut or not. For all I know the amount of classes offered in my major is the norm it has always been. However, I have a feeling CSU is going to be hurt far more than a UC. UCs have far larger endowments to work with.

there were some classes that I wanted to take for 2009 and was using the class planner on my.ucla. but some of the classes already show that they’re closed when the enrollment is tomorrow… … what’s the deal?

They open and close classes to limit enrollment during first pass.
