UCLA Fall 2009 Transfer Profile of Admitted Students

If I come off as a moron, please forgive me. I was just looking at last years profile of admitted transfer students to UCLA and after looking at all the majors I came to this:

Undeclared - Humanities 8 0.06% 6 75.00% 0.13% 6 100.00% 0.20% 3.08 3.09 3.09 63 64 64
Undeclared - Life Science 1 0.01% 1 100.00% 0.02% 1 100.00% 0.03% 2.20 2.20 2.20 24 24 24
Undeclared - Social Sciences 9 0.07% 9 100.00% 0.19% 9 100.00% 0.30% 2.91 2.91 2.91 55 55 55

It was my understanding that as a transfer student you HAD to specify a major. Can someone explaining to me how these people transfered undeclaired?

On a side note, I'm currently going to SMC and just now found out about the scholars program (TAP) I've asked a similar question on here before, but I have not done any scholars classes, will I be able to complete the TAP program next year for my second year, or am I basically screwed?

Thanks! :)

I’m in scholars and credit it mostly to my acceptance at UCLA. (3.5 Anthro if you’re wondering). You’re going to have to take 2 honors classes during the summer and 3 during Fall '10 in order to get certified.

But don’t do it if it’s going to cause a major drop in GPA, although I did take 3 last fall and got an A, B, and C in each while working at the same time.

& My theory for the undeclared transfers are people who transferred in as sophomores onto sports teams.

ah, yeah the sport theory makes sense. And ss for taking two honors classes in the summer, I don’t think that will be possible because I’m going to be out of town from July 3-22. So unless theres classes before or after I’m out of luck :(
