<p>I didn't see an official thread, so I thought i'd start one. On what grounds did you guys appeal? Any results?</p>
<p>I just appealed on why my academic career was so bad a decade ago and how I pulled myself out of that rut. I had my friend check for me last night since I’m too lazy to check for myself and she said it’s still under review. How about you?</p>
<p>I actually appealed because I wanted to be reviewed for Econ, rather than bio. (became interested in econ after I applied unfortunately)</p>
<p>They messed up and counted a non-transferable “F” against me.</p>

<p>Also, talked about insane undergrad research I’ve been doing (with ucla med)</p>

<p>Well my appeal to UCLA was still denied. On a funny turn of events, my appeal to Berkeley was granted. Go figure

<p>I had a family emergency and requested deferral. My mom is sick and I ended up choosing UCI yesterday because it’s close to home. However, Ucla was very supportive and deferred my admission to fall 2012 ( i got the letter in the mail yesterday). I can only apply to ucla Pre-history, no other uc and I can’t exceed 130 quarter units. I’m shocked they took the time to send my email over to the correct department(even though it was supposed to be a letter) and they wrote me a long email wishing me the best in my difficult situation . Even though I won’t be attending this fall and after hearing how cut throat and difficult admissions to an impacted major are, I am pleasantly surprised that they were so supportive.</p>
