@Ohm888 As people who haven’t really been given straight answers, we just want clarity, above all else. Sure, it may seem mindless, but it is in no way irrelevant, as this is a transfer thread and transfer decisions are a major part of transferring discussion. There’s still a choice for someone to refrain from checking the thread as frequently, or just checking the last two pages to see if decisions were announced.
why @adreezybones
I’m taking 12 units(Ochem, Physics, Bio) but very stressed
@lmgradgoals I, too, am taking 17 credits. I, too, cried within the last 24 hours LOL. The combined stress of waiting on UCLA as well as this very challenging paper I’m dealing with just like broke me. Oh, I also hadn’t eaten in like 8 hours so that probably made me easy to break lol
Cuz she is under academic probation XD
@sightwordsev I got my AA in the fall and they wont grant me financial aid anymore. (Atleast in my CC district)
That’s so cool
I usually take 3-4 classes a semester with 1 online class during the summer. For me it’s the perfect amount of work to keep me motivated but not overly stressed. If I don’t have time for other things I actually lose my mind (throwback to the semester I took 6 classes…never again)
@ruberi I understand that. I remember being stressed out. It’s logical and normal to be worried and stressed and to post about it, but there’s no need for one person posting it 30 times in one sitting. Then multiply that by eight people every day for a week. Several times a day. That’s not checking and it’s not getting clarity. I’m just trying to look out for others who come up here. Trust me, I get it. People are just letting off steam. I’m simply asking to tone it down a bit, if possible. ?
@sleepypolarbear Same. I work more than 20 hours/week so I don’t think I could do more than four classes at once. I heard some CSU reps on NPR the other day saying that 12 credits isn’t really full time and was like… huh?? I hope I can juggle everything once I’m at a UC!
I work 40 hrs a week in a supervisory role, and my safe bet is 3 classes. Maybe 4 if 2 of those would be half semester classes. Sometimes it overwhelms me a lot especially during finals week. When I get into enter University in the fall, I’d give up my job and put school in front. Taking 12-15 units and probably just work 24-28 hrs/week non supervisory job. Lol
ive literally been looking at this thread all day and just had to find my old account to communicate with you guys. I hope decisions come out today! good luck everyone
I dont work so I have more time, I admire people who work and attend school. but 19 units is a lot I won’t lie lol im a busy girl
Sorry for the dumb question, but units = credit hours, right? And is it difficult to transition from a semester system to a quarter system? Just making sure that they’re the same because I’m taking 21 credits this semester and I’m hoping I can keep up with that in a quarter system
i’ve been creepin this forum for so long… . i feel like i know all of u and i’m just this ghost lol. also, THANK YOU to those who called. if anyone else wants 2 call… bless ur heart
Units and credits are virtually the same thing, yeah.
@sarcappuccino no dumb questions here. i’ve taken both semester and quarter system classes through UCLA Extension and my CC and I didn’t find it that hard. I do feel though, that quarter system has fewer assignments with more weight on each one if that makes sense. i would take fewer credits than i would units. more stressful when its condensed .
I’m honestly really excited to be on a quarter system when I transfer. I don’t know what it is about semesters but everything felt so slow and boring and I lose motivations super fast.
finally a good human being who appreciate our effort
I really hope decisions come out in 29 minutes
