@surefineitsok @gappy123 jeez same, i actually did have to drop out of high school due to mental health reasons and my family treated me like an idiot. then i got my ged and they were like “hmm still not gonna do anything with your life”
then i went to community college and studied comp sci and i straight up got told “you’re not smart enough to be in that field”
and now that ive gotten into ucsb and am waiting for other schools and my dream of getting a phd to do research in computational linguistics is so much closer, i cant wait to throw it in their dumb little faces that i never needed them

AHH, spite is so motivating. here’s my tragic backstory. you’ve earned it. straight UP my high school chem teacher told me i’d never do well in college. and i’m not one to flex but 
felt really good to watch her see me get valedictorian at HS graduation. I got into and committed to pitzer college (who claimed to meet 100% of need smh) and couldn’t go because i fell under some weird clause in their aid dept. after that i got a full ride to the college of wooster, but had to leave, because the KKK was active in the area and i was spit on and called slurs… aND THEN. I had to start community college a semester LATE. so graduating in two years with a 3.9 has been like. SCREW you evil CHEM TEACHER. and evil wooster townies. and evil pitzer $aid dept. screw. u . UCLA accepting me would be like the ultimate catharsis
