My wife just was accepted to the EECS program! She’s very happy. I don’t think she is so concerned with her UCLA application now.
She had a 4.0 from Los Angeles community colleges and 3 W’s - if that helps inform.
Thanks for all the communication on here. It helped provide us some perspective on what to expect.
@nugnugnugnug yeah, I wanted to take that route because the CS major was just too competitive. I’m sure you’ll have a pretty decent chance as long as you’ve got the major prep done
Wow I wish I would have found this thread some time ago but yesterday I found out I got into UCI which is my second choice school (but nonetheless I’m happy that I got in). I was wondering if someone could chance me for UCLA just to see if I have a shot of getting in or if I should SIR to UCI.
Stats:
Psychology major
GPA: 3.91
Major prep and IGETC will be finished by the end of this semester
Extracurriculars: (Not really a lot past high school becuase I’m finishing my degree in two semesters so my courseload was heavy both semesters) PTK, Volunteer for local labor union, and works part time for my dad’s business
No TAP
First generation college student
My essays talked about how a close family member was diagnosed with schizophrenia and how that influenced my decision to study psychology, how I currently balance all the aspects of my life, my artistic expression, and coming to terms with my gender
I know that the decisions should be posted soon but I’m so impatient lol
I also got rejected from Berkeley. Thing is, even if I had gotten in, I didn’t want to go because I want to stay in SoCal. Yet - it still hurts lol. I’m sad that I didn’t get in, not because I wanted to attend, but because it makes me more nervous for UCLA, which is my dream school
Whatever happens this Wednesday, it doesn’t define you, you define your success and you know your worth. It would be amazing if all of us could get into UCLA, but the reality is that some of us are destined to have success at another college that would be just as lucky to have us.
I have some friends who applied for transfer last year. Most of them got rejected by UCB but those who got accepted by UCI also got accepted by UCLA. So no worry at all. At least right now you already had a choice for UCI.
