UCLA Fall 2019 Transfer Thread

@Bibihcmvn The way I see it is that having a whole list of things to talk about may be interpreted as resume padding, whereas if you focus on discussing one/ a few thing(s) in detail, it shows true dedication and commitment.

@halpmehxd I had one missing because I didn’t have it at me cc, same as UCLA.

Trying to stay positive. Ugh, I wish UCB would have come out after UCLA. But I’m glad that I have UCSB regardless of how Wednesday goes.

@HeyItsNick same, got rejected from Berkeley but UCLA is my first choice and UCSB is my second choice. It’s nerve wracking because its still days away!

Any language related majors who did their language in high school? Send me a message

@LeoAlva
I agree. It wasn’t until 2018 that it became lower than UCLA. 2017 was higher than UCLA in 2017. I more so want to go to UCLA because of the location. I want to be close to home and LA is a place I would love to live. Berkeley is too far and the environment there doesn’t really fit. I would overall be more happy at UCLA.

@LeoAlva do you know anything about the differences between the philosophy departments at UCB and UCLA?

im praying to god that i get into ucla, if i dont my parents will force me to go to berkeley and i know i’ll be so depressed there lol (sorry 4 rant im high)

@halpmehxd Most of the info I’ve gathered has been from the philosophy gourment, and other websites. Also, maybe no one cares about this, but CAL has a dedicated philosophy library and that says a lot to me at least. UCLA does not have such a library and its kind of a bummer.

@cam34568 You know I feel you. I am tied between both. It comes down to these small things for me like the architecture of the school, sports, libraries, family, and cost. Geez…we out here boyos

@slimreaper i hope you get in

@slimreaper Jeez i’d hate to be forced to go to a uni like that.

I know I am super late to this discussion, but if you could chance me that would be great.

Here are my stats.

Well I got the regents scholarship email as well. So does that mean I’m most likely in or what. Econ major over here

@LeoAlva omg what!!! A philosophy library sounds amazing lol

@halpmehxd its pretty cool. USC has one that is absolutely gorgeous but USC is lame.

i applied to ucla as a computer science major. i have a 3.8 overall gpa but im missing a pre req course. i wasnt able to complete the physics series at my cc so is there any chance that i would still be able to get in with major prep missing?

how likely/unlikely is it to get accepted to both ucla and ucb

is it safe to say being accepted to ucb is a good indicator that you may be accepted to ucla as well?

@slimreaper Hard to say. Probably yes but there are so many variables.

Anyone else that got rejected/waitlisted to Berkeley have really bad anxiety now…I’m so scared, now I’m thinking I’m not going to get in and it’s so sad. I’m literally doubting everything.
