Do campuses make their admissions decisions independently from other UC campuses?
“Each UC campus evaluates each application without knowing the status of the same application at another campus. In making admission decisions, campuses do not consider where you’ve applied or your admission status to other campuses. All campuses consider your application simultaneously, yet independently of all other campuses you applied to.”
I CAN’T BELIEVE I got ACCEPTED into Berkeley, I hope I can get into UCLA! With my GPA I’m shocked too.

@JakeRice40
Yes you should def call. I got rejected from ucsb and gave them a call and they told me the exact reason of why i got rejected.
I think maybe its because you had half of your units from an out of state cc, thats why? But still it doesnt make sense for SLO…
@ishitak ok you don’t have a glitch. I was thinking after the surprising line that if you’re rejected everywhere there might be a system-wide application error, such as under 60 units, etc.
In Berkeley’s FAQs, they say they won’t talk specifics about applications. Are they just saying that to discourage people, and will actually answer questions I had?
@ishitak I got denied by Davis too! I was surprised because I met all of their requirements for psych and my gpa is pretty good. Can’t win them all I guess
If my GPA is way above 75th percentile and my major has a 43% acceptance rate, do you think I stand a chance even though I am missing one prerequisite? How strict is UCLA about major prereqs. I just want an honest answer. So discouraged after being rejected from Cal.
I got accepted to Berkeley for Spring 2020, majoring in Political Science. Would you guys take the offer and start until spring or go to UCLA instead for Fall?
