UCLA Fall 2019 Transfer Thread

@HarleyTheQuinn How would one get a MyUCLA acc w/o having been enrolled there before?

@AeroDE You can. I believe you use your last name and DOB. You might not be able to access some parts of it without a UID like “my features” or “classes”. Most users from last year’s form were able to receive one by emailing UCLA.

Now next year students are gonna see this and they will most likely do the same thing we tried to do… thus, the cycle repeats

@HarleyTheQuinn thank you!

I’m just gonna end up getting more worried so i’m not doing that trick thingy.

@jedenic If you go to the MyUCLA website, you can click the link under “New to MyUCLA?” You’ll click on the box for the terms of agreement and then click the agreement button. It’ll give you two options whether you have a 9-digit UCLA ID number or not.

https://www.my.ucla.edu/

@ishitak Don’t worry about it. I’m pretty skeptical about it too since there were mixed responses about it from last year’s forum.

@HarleyTheQuinn did you try it?

… just realized what I wrote made no sense.

@ishitak Yeah. No “new students” tab anywhere. Older forums mentioned that some people were able to see their Financial Aid Awards, which meant that they were in. I checked on that too, but it just said “Sorry, there is no financial aid information available for you to view on the Awards and Notices page.”

The only thing I could find somewhat interesting was on the “MyUCLA Status”. I clicked on it and it just says “Welcome to MyUCLA!” and a picture of the Royce Hall. I don’t know if that image was always there or not, though.

Btw guys, if you read this and for the future transfers of next year who’ll go back and read this thread, don’t rely on the whole “trick” about the MyUCLA thing! It’s just speculation based on what old transfers have said in the past. Everyone had different responses about what they saw. You can try it out, but don’t rely on it. Maybe it works for some, maybe it doesn’t. It’s better saving yourself from stressing about it

Also, you might not be able to access MyUCLA right away (based on what some users experienced last year).

Fun fact, if you email UCLA for support or updating information or something. They had replied the last year students with UID.

I already emailed the UCLA on Thursday through the portal, still no reply. Does anyone else know an email to contact them? I have to update some information regarding my Tap certification.

mine says “We are happy to have recieved your application etc etc etc”

@slimreaper not that email. If you email UCLA recently for support or updating information.
the last student had received like this

@GoodAfternoonSir hey! if you don’t mind, do you know the email address of UCLA? Did you email them through the portal too?

Sadly, I already emailed the UCLA on Thursday through the portal, still no reply. I have to update some information regarding my Tap certification.

@AeroDE no lol, my comment was about HarleytheQuinn’s comment. she said on her myucla thing it says “Welcome to MyUcla” and my only thanks me for sending in my app?? idk tho if we’re looking at the same page?

@slimreaper oh ok. wait so you also have a My UCLA account? im missing out this
MY Application Status account says what you said. I don’t have a MyUCLA account :C

@slimreaper Oh, woops! My bad lol I didn’t clarify. The MyUCLA page is different from the website where you can check your status. I got the “Welcome to MyUCLA” from this website when I was looking through my features. I might have gotten that page because I’m still considered a summer sessions student (I was in SITE PLUS last year, so they gave us a UID and we made a MyUCLA account with it): https://www.my.ucla.edu/

I think you were on this one?:

@HarleyTheQuinn I MISREAD YOU OMG LOL. ok ty ty i was freaking out but i see now, NOT the myucla status page lol. i lurked thru last year’s thread and everyone was tripping out over the conspiracy theory ??

Okay so I got too curious and checked mine says “Our records indicate that you do not have access to use MyUCLA at this time…”

@ishitak No worries. Some people had the same message on last year’s forum
