UCLA Fall 2019 Transfer Thread

Do we know the official release time?

Imma wear a full bruin outfit on Wednesday. UCLA pants, sweatshirt, shirt and a beanie that has a ucla pin >:). Worst thing that could happen, I tell everyone that I was forced to do so by my fam o.o

@Blonded1 There’s a supposed “trick” where if you have a MyUCLA account, you can supposedly tell whether you got in or not earlier by checking to see if you have features like the “new students” tab, or checking your financial aid. You can get a MyUCLA account by signing up without needing a UCLA ID. However, without the ID, you won’t be able to access features. You usually get a UID if you email ICLA about something. Many users from the old transfer forums dating up to the 2009 year tried doing this “trick”, with most showing different responses. Some were able to see that “New Students” page and some weren’t able to access their myUCLA at all, which is normal.

Although, it’s only speculation. I told everyone not to rely on it as I’m a bit skeptic about it.

You can read more about the topic starting on page 215 of the forum.

@llaauurenn I think we all agree at this point that its April 24th at 5:00pm

I get off work at 12 on Wednesday so I plan on spending 5 long hours obsessing over the decision lol

UCLA’s releasing decisions on my birthday so… I wonder how that’s going to go

Hope your wish comes true (AND MINE). :relaxed:

@90smix lmao same ive been wanting to write the frank ocean lyrics, “Brain like Berkeley” in my bio already lel

@UniCoIn Happy early birthday !!

UCLA releases on my father’s birthday, and he went to UCLA. The pressure is on for me lol

Thank you I’m so nervous! @90smix

Hey does anyone have ideas on what I should write for my " How will you maximize your undergraduate experience at UCLA?" essay for the Regents Scholarship. I am so burnt out rn because of classes and also I wasn’t mentally prepared to be writing this essay so I’m not exactly sure what to say and how to stand out.
Also does anyone know how many people who are offered to apply end up getting it?

Seems fun to write. Maybe talk about how you’ll leave no stone unturned and find ways to use your passion or major or whatever to connect to the community there. Id rather be writing something rn instead of surfing the web on ucla and cc.

Anyone applied UCLA as an Out of state student?

*applied to

@90smix Was Berkeley your first choice?

@neilsola Both UCB and UCLA were my top 2 picks, I didn’t expect UCB to accept me so if UCLA does then idk what to do, I will try to do a tour at both and pick from there hehe but if UCLA rejects me then I’ll go to Berkeley :slight_smile:

@HarleyTheQuinn I know this trick is very unreliable but I still want to try it just for the heck of it lol. So I don’t have a UCLA ID, can I still sign up and check MyUCLA “to see that I got accepted” (notice the quotes) without having the ID?

@HarleyTheQuinn So if UCLA releases decisions at 5pm on wednesday then I’ll be back from school by then on the dot. My honors anthropology class ends on 4:30pm and it’s 25 minutes back to home so I will be cozy in my bedroom ready to cry when i’m rejected. “Waaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh” (Pre-pubescent voice)

I find it very interesting that UCLA ranks itself as having “#1 best college food in the country”. Like since when did food became a prevalent factor in an educational institution? lol.

I guess I’m not the only person who cares about food quality in college anymore (this is a very good thing!)

P.S: I sound like a complete hypocrite lol

@90smix That’s a good problem to have :slight_smile:
