UCLA Fall 2019 Transfer Thread

me too…i just been going through the motions waiting for my fate…i can’t eat, sleep, or focus lmao :sleepy:

Im going to be dreaming about checking this thread ?

Do STEM people that get into Berkeley typically get into UCLA too?

Its so funny, I feel confident for some reason but my application and gpa are trash.

I wonder what percent of the rejected TAP applicants is just people not putting an alternate correctly.

I had a conversation with a counselor the other day, and he told me that I would not believe the number of tapped people that just do not put an alternate major or absentmindedly put an impacted major as their alternate.

@Princetonian9 I’m literally the same way. I feel confident but then I’ll read something and feel hopeless again.

I also have this list of things that id do and fix up but if i dont get in it all falls apart D:

Hi guys, this is a little premature obviously but does anyone know that if UCLA accepts someone, do they have to maintain their current GPA for that semester to still be admitted? Or does it just need to stay above 3.0 or something??

I heard no C’s. idk

Does anyone know if the gpa ranges they show on the UC transfer rate website is overall gpa? Or major? Or just UCLA transferrable?

@nugnugnugnug I always wondered that! My guess was always transferable gpa.

@GoodAfternoonSir UCLA food is amazing! Covel Commons has great brunch on weekends ?. Cornell is actually #1 for dining halls right now (according to a UCLA tour guide I overhead while walking through campus one day), but UCLA is still phenomenal!

a UCLA rep told me that they don’t even care about your major gpa unless you’re a STEM major with a lot of pre-reqs

Um thats bad news. Im not stem but my major gpa is 4.0, whereas overall is 3.37

wait how is everyone calculating major gpa?

Yea he said that they don’t have time to look at what grades we got on each class individually  They just go off of the overall…

Honestly, I don’t know how people waited for decisions pre-internet. I would have literally gone insane if not for College Confidential.

None of my professors have actually input anything into the gradebooks and it’s pissing me off because I have no idea where exactly I stand in my classes

@heyitsnick I think about how it wasn’t that long ago that people had to just wait by the mailbox day-in and day-out… Sounds terrible.

Also you don’t get the fun lil virtual confetti hehe

@lolallama23 You just use the grades for the classes that are listed on the major prep page and calculate the gpa normally using those grades.
