UCLA Fall 2019 Transfer Thread

@willowstil let’s take a moment of silence for those who lived through the dark ages

@imstressin TAP transfer academic planner

@purplewhale2297 wait so they don’t look at individual grades at all? What if I only had 7 classes with grades by the time I applied. Kinda worrying bc I have a 3.96 but when you look at the individual grades it’s all A’s and 1 A-.

idk honestly…that’s what I was told :confused: BUT WOW YOUR GPA IS SO HIGH DW!

@npound you only have 7 classes done?

@purplewhale2297 Do you think they look at upward trends? Lol cause my GPA is 3.56 but I’ve been getting 4.0’s with a heavy loads since last summer

@twelveseveneight thats literally me! that’s my exact gpa and i’ve been getting 4.0s with heavy loads since last summer as well. hopefully they do take it into consideration

@twelveseveneight I heard Ucs especially really like upward trends and that it even stays consistent, because remember you don’t always need a 4.0 to be the brightest one of the bunch a 3.5 would do just fine.

@UniCoIn True true! Speaking wisdom

I think we ALL have heavy loads

I think we ALL took 7 classes at some point.

Hey guys, I know UCLA accepts 70-semester credits but I have 74-semester credits, will that affect anything for me in terms of admission or anything else?

@offwhiteazy ASDFGHJKL

@anenglishmajor yep by the time i applied i only had 7 classes done bc i’m a one year transfer. along with ap credit and a heavy courseload i’ll have the 90 units required after my spring quarter.

@npound How many classes/units are you taking this semester?

@GoodAfternoonSir I’m taking 5 classes which is 21 units. I’m on the quarter system so having winter quarter def helped with getting all my units in.

I’ll have 91 units after spring do you guys think I have a chance did I try to hard?

@npound Man i wish my school had a winter semester or quarter, then I would just complete Calc 2 during that time instead instead of sending my spring grade on april 3.

Good for you bro! Keep up the work!

@UniCoIn i think we ALL took 91 units

@offwhiteazy After this semester I’ll have 99 credits. too bad the UC’s accept 70 units max
