Reassurance, hope…
@andreas554432 You have a good chance even with a gpa lower than the average. GPA is a big deal obviously but if you see the 25%-75% percentile of accepted applicants average GPA per major at UCLA, there’s a lot of variance because Berkeley and UCLA put a lot of emphasis on EC’s and especially essays. I had friends last year get accepted to UCLA’s anthropology program with a 3.3 even though the average is a 3.7 because of well thought out essays. Either way just know it isn’t the end of the world so you can breath the next day or two haha
I’d say you have a decent chance. Your extra curriculars are impressive but your GPA is a bit on the lower end of the spectrum for polisci tbh, did you by chance do the TAP program? Did you submit strong essays? These are important factors that have a big effect on your chances of getting in. Good luck!
I wish we could all get offered admission, but at this point the situation is like the lifeboat situation on the Titanic. There’s only so many spots, y’all! To those who get a spot on the lifeboat, congrats, you’re safe! If you get denied a spot, well then I am so terribly sorry
If you get told to wait for the next one…well it could go either way.
Regardless, you are all beautiful, intelligent people, and the fact that you were a UCLA prospect proves just how hard you’ve all worked. So rejoice in that…most college kids wouldn’t dare apply to UCLA for fear of rejection, let alone attend! Keep up the hard work because if you do so, no matter what school you end up going to, you WILL make an impact on this world!
Now that we’re on the subject, would someone mind chancing me?

Any Linguistics majors with an emphasis in English on here? I’m a bit worried because there’s no prerequisites on assist. GPA is 3.45 with TAP certification if that helps.
Lol it’s only annoying when it’s the ppl who have 3.9+ GPAs, kickass ECs, who literally have no reason to worry
@LBC562 use this site
https://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/infocenter/transfers-major
although I’d say you have a good chance
@LBC562 You have a really good GPA I think you will get in
My first choice major is Sociology but I feel like I have a better chance of getting accepted into my alternate major with TAP…
Can we not do chance me anymore, y’all? Decisions will be out tomorrow. It’s really just useless now
I JUST WANNA GET IN!!!
.
Not tryna be rude but can we stop with the “chance me” posts? They’re getting incredibly redundant, especially because decisions LITERALLY COME OUT TOMORROW! JUST WAIT. YOU HAVE A CHANCE TO GET IN, ALMOST ALL OF US HAVE A CHANCE, now for the love of god stop spamming the UC threads.
Gross lol who would want to see Jake
Paul at UCLA?
@aerode @stressexpress Hey sick memes but just FYI the mods will probably delete the fake chance me’s, they were doing that earlier.
i know man, just tired of them as there is only about less than 33 hours until they release decisions…
wHAt aRE My cHaNCEs? ?
@andreas554432 Same tbh. I was bold and put “Bruin-to-be” in mine LOL. I want to be able to remove the “to-be” and just have “Bruin [bear emoji]”
P.S. This is totally just a coping mechanism, for me at least. I obviously do not want to attend UCLA just so I can put it in my IG bio…
I agree with @slimreaper I’ve seen this happen where people do a last minute “chance me” on the day of or before admission decisions come out. I don’t mean to sound like a ?️ but I’m just gonna warn y’all who do this: No one is going to respond because we’re all too busy freaking out about admission decisions. That doesn’t mean you can’t post a “chance me”, but it’s highly unlikely someone’s gonna respond (maybe one person), especially when the hours are near ?
