@holatomm@willowstil@Princetonian9 Thanks guys. It was just very unexpected and one of those redeeming moments for me. Even if I dont go, just feeling like I was someone they wanted was so meaningful.
I had a really strange path, with C’s and even 1 D (in a 400 upper division course I tried to take on as a freshman-- derp). I just worked my tail off the last few years and finally gained the confidence to apply. I wanted to apply to Stanford but I was still lacking the confidence…after getting into UCB I’m kinda kicking myself for not believing in myself more.
I would have been happy to walk away with my acceptance at UCI, so UCB really hit me in the feels
@holatomm Aww thank you! <3 I really hope I get in. I made the bold move of staying another year because I’m too darn determined about my goals ahaha. I hope it pays off on the end.
@ishitak
YUP. I live in LA and I’m not too happy to hear that we’ve got an outbreak. Thankfully, as long as you’re properly vaccinated you’re unlikely to get it.
“ [the] CDC considers people who received two doses of measles vaccine as children according to the U.S. vaccination schedule protected for life, and they do not ever need a booster dose.”
@hafnium Unfortunately there are people who are unable to get the vaccine that rely on herd immunity who are now at risk… Measles is one of the most contagious diseases in the world. If an infected person comes in contact with a non-immunized person, there’s a 90% chance that person will be infected. Some serious stuff.
It’s interesting that it at UCLA, because they require proof of the MMR vaccine. I hope they don’t allow exemptions for anything other than medical reasons
I just got off work and was like “one more shift until I hear back about UCLA!” and now, for the first time ever, i’m actually wishing that work tomorrow would hurry up so it’d be tomorrow afternoon lol
@misseskite Oh that’s cool, I got into UCSB, but it’s way too far. I live in LA so it’s UCLA or Irvine for me, hey you never know if we both end up in Irvine we can connect hopefully!
trying to force myself to finish all assignments for this week by tonight cause i know if its an acceptance i wont be able to do anything other than look up housing and watch dorm tours, and if its a rejection ill be sulking lmao
Ugh. ??♂️ I’m a 38 y/o returning student and I’m obsessed with these upcoming decisions like all of you. I keep looking at UCLA and UCLA alone, which wasn’t the case when I applied. I feel like I may actually have a chance for UCLA statistically. It’s affecting my schoolwork. I’ve got papers to write and yet here I am, venting.
