@8CLAP4SUP Well 25 of these pages was everyone arguing about the decision date ad nauseum. ? ???
@sleepypolarbear your comment motivated to complete another assignment after I had decided I was done for the day - so thank you!
Tomorrow is dedicated to being anxious and cleaning. Maybe putting my Christmas tree away finally lol
@Ohm888 don’t know why people still ask even though a confirmed date has been given. Heck, even on the voicemail they say decisons will release April 24th at 5:00 pm. I wonder whats next smh…
@Ohm888 hahaha! Man, thank God we’re finally here though. Tomorrow is going to be a rollercoaster.
@Sugarcane1 He’s not sure yet. He applied to all the UC’s, SDSU and CPSLO and was accepted so far to all the UC’s (LA & SB pending of course). He’s never been to the UCLA campus so I think a tour, if admitted, would provide clarity.
@sugarcane1 Well I went there for the wrong reasons so I think thats why I ended up leaving after 1 year. The campus is shaped like a U hahahah but the bus system is so nice. The campus itself is so isolated from anything other than the city its in. Like when I’d fly home I’d have to take a 5 minute bus to another bus which was 40 minutes then would uber to the airport. Its a mission getting to and from there. The vibe on campus is different as expected. It’s a good school I think I just wanted more. It did get depressing at times cause you were in the same place for so long and it was hard to get out when you dont have a car. The campus was beautiful and classes were good. I actually preferred the classes there than at ucsd, where it was so dry. The professors I had at ucsc were so good imo but at ucsd they were so uninterested in me. Idk different perspective I guess. I do wish that I went to Ccc though instead of there cause it wasn’t what I wanted.
@biscuit4reggie definitely a visit to LA ??. My daughter tagged SB and admitted to SDSU, calpoly ,Davis, SC. Waiting on LA and SD. Denied at Cal.
Hey guys, so with UCB i got a Berkeley Transfer Scholarship, does UCLA have similar amount/types of scholarships ? Should I expect to get the same amount of Financial Aid from UCLA as i will with UCB ?
@Princestonian9 I agree with the difficulty of getting in and out of Santa Cruz over hwy 17. I lived there about 30 yrs ago and it’s a pain. We live 3 hrs by car north so likely no flying ha. It is pretty isolated on campus if no car. Thanks for your input and personal experience.
@Sugarcane1 My younger son is a freshman in weber honors at SDSU and loves it there.
@biscuitforreggie I have several friends with kids there and they love it as well. My daughter applied sociology everywhere but there because it had an acceptance rate of like 8% for transfer soc majors. She applied to their sustainability major instead because she had the prereqs and much less applied to and closer to 50% acceptance. UCLA is a school we visited 2 years ago and it’s beautuful. If she was admitted we’d definitely go look again on the Bruin day for admitted transfers in May. Best of luck to your son and making a decision.
I applied for Comm but I heard that they don’t accept anybody whose GPA is below 3.9 (and mine is legit 3.88!!!) so rip me lol
any other comm majors?
@inola10 Yes. Decisions are for sure tomorrow. They confirmed it on the UCLA voicemail and on twitter
@anthro101 I have a 4.0 and wasn’t offered regents
@90smix comm. at UCLA is very competitive for transfers, but I don’t think they have a cutoff on acceptable GPA like that…as long as you’re above a 3.7, you’re good enough for them to at least consider. I wish you the best of luck tomorrow! Even if you don’t get it though, I am sure you will be absolutely fine. Ucla, though they have a very selective comm. program, actually doesn’t have the highest rated one. I’m choosing UCSB whether I get in or not bc I really like their Comm. program.
If this helps at all, I’ve found it very helpful: https://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/infocenter/transfers-major
But again, best of luck! <3
me! hopefully we get in! ive seen you on many threads haha @90smix
yo we got this mofoooos
@“Comm.ingforU” Oh gosh thank you so much!! UCSB is a great school!! Almost all of my friends from high school go there and say it is a 10/10 experience, and it is rising in the rankings as it has great academics. You made a great choice and good luck at SB!!
@gonnatranser Sameeee. I got this! Reeee
@jjang25 hopefully we get in. We’ll be a part of the whopping 5% of the student population over the age of 25. ?
