UCLA Fall 2019 Transfer Thread

Did anyone else apply as a Public Affairs major? It’s fairly new and I don’t see the transfer acceptance rate for it on the UC website.

@srod888 There is no data for the Public Affairs major since its so new. I put PA as my alternative.

i applied as public affairs ?? i believe its super brand new like this previous fall 2018

My question is in regards to another school but no one really talks in that thread and I feel like you guys would help me better lol so anyways is it possible for you to get waitlisted if you applied for TAG? Because I completed every requirement for TAG and still got waitlisted so I’m not sure if thats a mistake on them or if this is a regular occurrence?? But yeah was wondering if any of you guys knew about this kind of situation

@the444 Have you tried calling the admissions office of that school to ask?

I would like to know more about this as well. if you find anything out can you please lmk! Thanks.

This might sound like a dumb question, but does anyone know how the process of TAP works after you’re certified? Like when you get your application reviewed, does that admission officer get notified you’re in TAP, and if they reject your app, do they pass it to someone else to review it again but for your alt? I TAPped for Psychology and my alt is Anthropology. This whole application decision is driving me crazy lol

@LBC562 I didn’t find out until after UCSB’s admissions office closed so I’m going to call first thing tomorrow but I just wanted to know if anyone has dealt with this because I’m genuinely confused.
@lostboy18 I’ll let you know what happens after I call them!

@VeeJoePerra I actually want to know this too!!

@the444 Call the office tomorrow. They have told other people the reason, you just have to be insistent on talking to an actual admission counselor and not student staff. They will likely tell you to file an appeal and that may have a chance of working (there was at least one other student who got in through an appeal).

My cc honors counselor told me that the admissions officer should know that you’re part of the TAP program and basically give your application another look for your alternate major. All you need is two officers to say “yes” to admitting you and you’re in.

I’m in the same boat right now as a Sociology major w/Linguistics and English as my alt major.

anyone preparing for tmw? 19 hours left…

im so nervous, its crazy to think the decisions are already made but we have to wait until tomorrow night :frowning:

@callmeswags 2 officers only? I’m really curious how this works. How many people are in the room and how do they look over an app and vote? I know essays are read by a bunch of temp readers and such. Wonder how the main officers work.

im oddly calm tbh, im nervous af but i just feel ready to get my decision already! good luck yall?

Dang decisions finally come out tomorrow but now that we’re so close I really don’t wanna find out I got rejected lmaooo

I think we should be proud of ourselves regardless of whether we get in or not! It’s our last semester and I’m just glad I survived what feels like hell

I’m honestly so anxious about tomorrow that it’s gonna be hard for me to fall asleep tonight. I’m planning on finishing up all my homework that’s due on Thursday so that if I get in, I can celebrate and not do any homework. If I get rejected, at least I won’t have to do hw and be reminded of my failed attempt to get into UCLA

@90smix of course, good luck!

@callmeswags Interesting. I wonder what would happen if one officer said yes but the other said no :open_mouth:

That’s actually what I fear about how my application was reviewed lol
