UCLA Fall 2019 Transfer Thread

We already debunked that tweet cause it says 2018 not this years.

MODERATOR’S NOTE:
And clearly, they were wrong, which is why I deleted the post, as well as the many freak-outposts that followed.

@sl2018 I just checked the twitter and the most recent reply says “We anticipate releasing transfer admission decisions tomorrow, April 24, after 5:00 PM Pacific Time” It’s dated yesterday, April 23rd, so no I don’t think we have to wait another day.

@jjang25 Well, its nice to see that that guy didn’t get it but was admitted

Omg lol whoops sorry guys! It’s the second thing that comes up when you google “UCLA admissions Twitter” so I clicked on it lol so misleading

I so wish we could see average applicant gpa rather than just accepted and enrolled. I think it would help so much tbh

@llaauurenn why would that be so?

@llaauurenn Like this? https://universityofcalifornia.edu/infocenter/transfers-major

The interquartile range that they give you is more useful than an average because it is resistant to extremes.

An average GPA would probably be misleading.

@llaauurenn

for example my major has a 13% acceptance rate. I’m in the range of 25th to 75th percentile gpas barely but if I could see the overall applicant gpas I’d better be able to see if gpa is a good predictor of admittance, cuz for example if applicant gpa was 3.6 - 4 let’s say, I would assume a lot of things other than gpa go into it if the admit percent is 3.83 - 4 as I’d then see that 25% of applicants have a 4.0 so then half the people with 4.0’s still aren’t getting in

I was just looking at that chart earlier and thinking about how it would be helpful, as i believe @llaauurenn said, to see the general applicant pool’s gpa range by major rather than just the admits

@jjang25 ^^

@jeetusSwo @uclaletmeinpls Yup Psych Major

5 more hours guys! We can do this and I wish all the best for you :slight_smile:

@callmeswags What major are you? I go to mesa tooo

is anyone else worried that the portal still hasnt went down ?

@llaauurenn anybody can pay the 70$ and apply. it would be meaningless for an average that will include applicants with a 2.00 gpa that applied and got rejected. and the admitted gpa range of one year does not mean that’s what will be the acceptable range the following year or the year after that. perhaps you mean average gpa of applicants accepted?

@90smix @TheMaSharng I apologize, I meant 25th - 75th percentile for both. I know the enroll and admit gpa ranges, but wish we knew the applicants

@jjang25 ^^

I’m so anxious about decisions that I woke up early on a day off.
