Non-traditional student - started at a 4-year college at 15 years old but had to drop out because I developed severe narcolepsy that went undiagnosed until I was 26. Returned to CC last fall to finish some credits in order to transfer, which I completed with a 4.0 there (while escaping a domestic violence situation and single parenting). It was REALLY hard and this is such a slap in the face.

@90smix I feel like perhaps Berkeley’s admissions team had a little bit of a softer heart for personal insight. Whereas I feel like the applicant pool for UCLA is so large they can be hyper selective, especially for your major

*I had a really bad semester from when I was 18 and got 2 F’s. I dropped out after that and since moving to California and attending CC here I’ve had all A’s in two years over semester 70 units.
I am non-traditional student and unfortunately did not get in. The hard work that we put in will pay off sooner or later! Congrats everyone who got accepted from one of the best schools! We all have a bright future ahead of us.
