@bruins8clap holy canoli you’ve been on college confidential all day lol. me too, the wait is killing me xD
SAME HERE LOVES
Ik bro. I just wish I could knock out for like 12 hours, but unfortunately I go to sleep like at 11 and wake up at like 7 lol
@bruins8clap
I don’t get what your point is at all. Are you trying to imply somehow that FAM and Econ/Math are less rigorous or something? Is the makeup of the major requirements supposed to be some kind of explanation for why FAM and Econ/Math have higher transfer GPAs, and are impacted, compared to Mathematics, which is not impacted? Whether they’re impacted for transfers depends on the number and strength of the applicants, and basically, any type of mathematics applicant is going to have taken the same pre req courses.
I think they’re just becoming more impacted because the accounting and finance industry is becoming much more popular in this day and age. And the high GPA just probably comes from the competition between so many applicants and UCLA wanting to take in the best of the best. But I think you are correct, regardless, they will most likely have to take the same pre reqs and major course preps.
Not at all. That wasn’t my point. But just to note: the UCLA Math/applied math major is definitely more rigorous than Econ/Math or FAM major.
The UCLA math major, students have to take 2 courses of Analysis.
Math 131A/B is known as the hardest math undergrad class at UCLA.
Hey guys! Is it realistic to complete 16 upper division courses and expect to graduate in two years and maintain a high GPA? I’m seriously considering switching from sociology to cognitive science (not impacted). I’m planning to take 3 of the prereqs this summer. I would still have to take Calc 1 and 2, and 3 comp sci classes for me to declare as precognitive science. I would then have to take 11 more courses to graduate. With that being said, will I be able to finish all these courses in 2 years and graduate on time?
I hope to make the most out of these next two years and to make life long friends wherever I transfer. It’s wild how close admission decisions are to being released. Extremely grateful for this thread!
If I get accepted, I’m torn between sociology and cognitive science. I would imagine switching into cognitive science shouldn’t be a problem as it isn’t impacted and I would have some of the prereqs done for it before starting in the Fall. This is assuming I get into UCLA, of course, lol.
@RoastedHamm that seems pretty okay? You might have A LOT on your plate with that strategy but I mean in theory you could I think. Taking courses over the breaks would definitely help.
Anybody eat their sandwiches/ quesadillas with tillamook cheese? It is so fresh and tasty.
Mexican style cheese from costco and some added mozzarella is where it’s at
For quesadillas, that is
I’ve never had any mexican style cheese. Like the legit kind?
But seriously tillamook cheese is good. Just think about kraft cheese, the individual slices, but in a WAY better quality cheese and product, that is what tillamook is.
@bruins8clap not sure if it’s legit or the white people kind, but It’s a very good multi-purpose shredded cheese to have around.
But you’re right, tillamook is well-known for their dairy products. My coworker is obsessed with their ice cream too.
@stressexpress i might have found myself a new best friend. mexican cheese from costco ftw!!
@8CLAP4SUP Yessss, now I know I like this thread way more than the berkeley one!
@stressexpress
I also love tillamook icecream.
