Don’t worry about it.
@Randapanda126 don’t call them with a question easily answered. They’re swamped. The rules are CLEAR. Two years of high school equals one year of college. It’s written everywhere and you can use the two years of high school to fulfill IGETC language. You send transcripts in June.
so anxious!
@TheMaSharng Yeah like idk if they’re just oblivious to how they come across or if they really believe that they know everything about admissions and that they’re better than everyone else… Judging from the comment they just made on the UCSB thread I think it’s the latter, lol. Sometimes people like that just need a wake-up call, sometimes they’re just jerks who are incapable of self-reflection
Edit: Lol their comment on the UCSB thread got deleted and they got a time out. I’m glad cause it was pretty vicious tbh. No room for that kind of negativity here.
So petty
I guess 12 more days till 24th or 5 days till 17th. We don’t even know if they’ll release on the 17th or the 24th but hopefully it’s either since I believe they usually release on a wednesday
Woah, bruin8clap got banned.
When are people suppose to send hs transcripts to uc’s? I have completed igetc and using the four years of a language in high school to satisfy the foreign language req via igetc. Do we certify our igetc and send after admissions acceptance? Someone please help I’m confused and worried now
@CalBear1998 Personally, I’ll be certifying my IGETC after being admitted.
We’re supposed to send all final transcripts including H.S by July 1 (http://admission.universityofcalifornia.edu/how-to-apply/dates-deadlines/index.html)
Do UCs just honor that your igetc is certified during the admissions process. Then verify with us later after accepted? @GoodAfternoonSir
Thanks man!
@CalBear1998 I’ll be certifying my IGETC after decisions because I’m finishing up this spring. A lot of other areas on the app are self-reported, e.g. AP/IB scores, which also need to be sent after decisions! The UCs trust that applicants have integrity haha
@jedenic @GoodAfternoonSir thanks guys!! Appreciate it!
IGETC is not an admission requirement except at UC Berkeley (College of Arts & Science, I believe) so I am not sure even if you did not fulfill the IGETC in the end that UCLA would care. I would think that they would just want to make sure that you completed the courses that you said you did and those you planned this semester. In the event that you did not have the foreign language completed in high school, you would just have to take those at UCLA.
That’s my take tho and I could be wrong
@jedenic Yeah I find it a big hassle that USC requires us to send official transcripts immediately. Like, can’t they just trust us lol.
@CalBear1998 Any time
I have four years from hs so I assume I should be okay @HeyItsNick thanks! I didn’t pass the ap test tho but it should still be okay I think
Two years of a foreign language at high school passed with c- or better (AKA Spanish 1 taken junior year both semesters c-, Spanish 2 taken senior year both semesters c-).
Or you could complete one year of foreign language at your college to fulfill requirement too
@holatomm you sent your hs transcripts to your community college right to certify igetc right for the foreign lang requirement? I need to do this soon
You send transcripts and IGETC certification after you SIR. They are two separate requests on your end at the CCC. Berkeley’s L&S requires FULL certification if you chose that path. You can also choose breadth.
IGETC is not required but makes you more competitive. The exception would be STEM where many of the majors have so many requirements they don’t expect IGETC.
Also I believe Riverside’s bus admin major requires full IGETC. Don’t quote me.
@CalBear1998 Yes. I sent my own H.S transcript which needs to be official to my community college to certify IGETC
