hi guys!!! i know it’s super super early for this LOL but since ucla just came out for transfers last week i’ve been feeling super anxious for applying later on this year idk if anyone else is feeling this way too. also, i keep looking at the fall 2019 thread LOL feel free to share ur stats n where y’all r from!!!
hey gorl!!! I want to transfer to UCLA for Fall 2020, too. What’s your major?
omg hiiiiii!! I am Political Science, hbu???
Cool, I was previously planning on transferring as a Political Science major, too, but switched to Sociology!
ah omg I’ve been waiting for a forum to be made!! I’m so excited/anxious
OMG literally same which is why i made it ahhh!!
Hey, I am also applying this upcoming cycle. Trying to either go in as pre-sociology or pre-history since I will be TAP certified. I messed up pretty bad last fall but took winter session to clear my mind and I have been excelling ever since.
To clarify I took an honors course during the winter and I got an A which is what I meant by clearing my mind. I had an amazing professor who showed me what a history major can bring to the table. It is also not impacted at UCLA which is awesome. If anyone has any questions regarding admissions ask away I have met admissions officers during CCCP at UCLA and am close friends with recent transfers to UCLA.
I’m thinking about applying as a transfer applicant to UCLA but I’m interested in accounting. I understand that UCLA does not have an accounting major. I checked their list of majors and so far business economics and economics interest me. Which of the two majors is closer to accounting?
I believe biz Econ is as it has acctg courses in its requirements. Others might have more insight.
@Ohm888 Thank you! As for the calculus requirement that it says needs to be completed by spring, does that mean it should be done before spring starts or by the time spring semester ends?
Never mind. Someone answered my question already.
Anyone applying for cs knows if missing Physics 4C is a deal breaker?
Hey MoonKnight, the Anderson School of Management offers an accounting minor, it is pretty competitive although if you’re going in as bus econ you shouldn’t have a problem.
@brunodiaz Thanks, but I don’t think I’m interested in applying as a transfer applicant anymore.
Got rejected for Fall 2019. Got into Cal but didn’t get a decent financial aid offer. UCI gave me a full scholarship, but I’m debating on waiting and reapplying to UCLA and taking the LSAT. What’s everyone’s thoughts? I’m a Philosophy major, considering Law school.
Go with UCI, why would you wait? You can get into a great law school from there, assuming you gave good grades.
@Ohm888 I had an issue with a professor who graded me extremely unfairly (and also had a failing average in his 16-week course). It was an online course, I received A’s in all my homework/written assignments, but when testing game he gave me an F, despite me being confident I knew the material. He also refused to accomodate my disability (problems with processing written language when people are talking–we had to take our exams in the mathlab on campus while tutoring was in progress). I filed a grade appeal with the dean, but we couldn’t resolve it until after transcript submission deadlines. UCI admissions told me that I should take it in the summer if I even hoped to retain my admissions there. I got an A in that class, despite it being a 5-week course (funny, eh). I’m awaiting a decision from UCI while I fight to have the D removed from my transcript based on the A. Kind of a complicated situation.
The D will automatically be removed if you took the same course. No need for any drama on that end any more. If UCI said to retake to retain admission they should honor it. At the end of the day my personal answer as to whether you should go to UCI or stay at a CCC another year remains the same. If you get into UCI go there.
hey everyone!!! i’m planning on applying for pre-cog sci (not sure yet though) and am gonna try and fit in some 8 week classes before November to get that GPA boost LOL. good luck everyone!
