UCLA Fall 2020 Transfer Thread

This simply is not true.

@Bonlilicheng Wow. It really was a shock to see that I got rejected and I don’t know when I’ll get over it lol. I hope we both get into UCLA though, that would make up for it for sure. However, seeing I didn’t get into UCI, getting into UCLA seems out of reach wouldn’t you think?

I got admitted for econ to Berkeley. My gpa was 3.86 when I applied which is on the lower end but had great leadership experience, amazing essays, and extracurriculars. Business-Econ at UCLA is 9% acceptance so I’m not expecting to get in, haha

Most of applicants of Biz Econ / Econ has a 4.0. So I think EC’s and essays will play a very important role. I had a internship in the biggest commercial bank in China and I have athlete background, I think that help a lot for my UCI business admin.

hello, 3.75 gpa - waitlisted for berk’s haas so welp.

applied bus econ so lol i guess lets just wait it out.
3 internships total, plus 1 full-time job

im just peachy rn

@jaescott, I am a History major. I have been to UC Davis a couple of times and enjoyed the laid back environment. I think UC Davis holds a prestigious status without being too competitive, and I love riding my bike! I’m almost certain UCB has a better History Department, but since I started CC, I knew I wanted to attend UCD. It has been my dream school since I was in middle school, but I only graduated with a 2.8 in HS. In college, however, I have a 3.7. I just hope someone on the waitlist that really wants to go to UCB gets my spot!

@heyigotnoclue Hey! I’m sure you already know but Haas is INSANELY hard to get into. Getting on the waitlist is an extraordinary accomplishment! So many 4.0s were rejected this year. So, congratulations! And I think you will have a great chance with UCLA. I’m sure you’ll be successful no matter where you end up.

I’m thinking tomorrow at 5 pm for UCLA and Friday will be UCSD

@Benjamin81 That’s great man! Congratulation on getting into your dream school!!! I did visit UC Davis many years ago (2012ish), and it did seem like a calm sunny place. And, I love biking too, it’s actually one reason I thought UCSB seemed so great when I was in high school. Anyways, I hope we aren’t still quarantined in the fall! Fingers crossed.

@jaescott - ty ty - i was thinking for for sure rejection so im pretty ok rn. however, ive been searching on all forums for haas this year. legit no other waitlists so im just waiting for someone to also post a HAAS waitlist LOL

And why not?

Anyone else a Communication major??? What are your stats and stuff?

Anyone else a Communication major?? What are your stats?

I’m a psychology major and I wasn’t planning on applying to UCLA until last minute. I went to UCSB (As and Bs first year and first quarter of sophomore year got F, D, C) and then took a break and went to cc for 2 years and got 4.0 there. Because I didn’t know ucla required chemistry for psych, i’m currently in the class right now. Do you guys think that will negatively affect my chances of getting in?

Yeah, @Bubonica they say on their econ requirements page that it is STRONGLY RECOMMENDED (they put it in bold or caps) that you have your major prep done the fall before transfer.

Any microbiology majors? What are your stats?

Show one place where it says to complete required classes a full year before admissions? Because literally everywhere it says (on every single UC’s website) you must have all requirements completed by the spring.

I’m so stressed I haven’t been able to sleep for the past week, so I feel y’all… it’s ok, we got this!

it says on assist and their website LOL some majors do require certain major prep to be completed by the fall when applying!! an example would be business econ. you can look at assist and it explicitly states that applicants are STRONGLY required to complete major prep by fall prior to transferring. it makes sense since business econ is really competitive

I just looked at assist for the 19-20 agreement it says spring.
