I am sure it is not true. Last year I heard a member of the Committee shared his experience to pick out the best application. Forgot the details but there are 2 persons who will read your application separately. They must take notes on what points you impressed them. You need to have at least a number of notes (from each members) to be in the final list. There is nothing related to what you do beyond what you wrote down in your application.
Sorry I got in UCLA last year so that it is hard to remember everything he said.
By the way, last year I was rejected by HAAS - Berkerly whereas another friend got in Berkerly but got rejected by UCLA (Business Major). She finally chose USC though.
@2022hopefulbruh If I don’t use TAP, Can’t I get the review for both major? only get review for primary major?
@choiii the website states they only review your alternate major if you are TAP certified, so they will only look at your primary major if you are not 
@uclagorl it does not matter to me. But how can I use TAP is it different with prereq?

That they might drag their feet as well today. Shame on UCLA for the lack of transparency. A simple tweet saying they’re unsure would have even sufficed.
I’m a psych major as well! Decided it wasn’t worth my time to take calc so I got rejected from Berkeley and UCSC asked if I wanted to switch majors. I did all my major prep for UCLA. Maybe the TAP certification will help? I’m TAP certified as well. Good luck!!!

I doubt there’s much purpose in speculation. I know I’m just gonna be refreshing my portal every five minutes for the whole day… and if they leave us in the dark, it all starts again on Monday.
