I am curious which one is your first major choice stated on UCLA Application, Linguistics or Computer Science? Usually UCLA School of Engineering will not consider second choice of major. Did you have UCLA TAP?
It was Linguistics AND CS. Its a joint major. My second major was economics which is MORE impacted and competitive than ling+cs. Nope I did not have UCLA TAP. So I don’t have to worry abt it.

Did you have a hard time getting honors courses at your CC? I teach at our local CC but in non-credit so I am clueless. But from looking at course schedules, it seems honors courses are not frequently offered. My son is trying to transfer in one year (he is leaving high school with the 30 units from AP and concurrent high school-CC coursework). Worried it will be impossible to get the 15 units of honors done in just one year.
TIA for any info!
How’s the waitlist
Does he only need to take honors courses and be TAP certified or does he also have major requirements to complete and IGETC? At my CC it’s entirely possible to do complete the 15 credits in a year. They also cover IGETC requirements and maybe major prep if he’s not a STEM major. He should take a look at the honors catalog and see the course offerings for his CC. Ours are abundant.

ahh I declined my offer of admission today from UCLA! I ended up getting Regents from UCLA but chose to go to UC Berkeley instead. Hope someone can get off the waitlist

Found this after a Google search, directly from UCLA:
- If you will not be attending UCLA, please decline your offer of admission and let us know what your plans are. Log in to the MyApplication Status website to decline your admission offer. Once you’ve logged in, click on “Your Next Steps.” UCLA does not grant many deferrals. Students are only admitted to the term for which they applied.
Hi all, do you guys think that UCLA will be open in fall 2021 and have u decided to return back to la if u’re an international student? Besides, do u know if UCLA requires us to go back to US by this fall? The COVID-19 pandemic makes me confused to choose online classes or in-person classes.
