UCLA Fall 2021 Transfers

Thank you so much!

doesn’t have average OOS but just has average GPA in general per major per UC.

Did anyone here apply for architectural studies?

I just realized the date is Feb 11—the same day UCLA sent out a Alumni Scholarship reminder. Could the mom be confusing Alumni with Regents?

It just seems so odd that no transfers have talked about getting regents. Besides that post, there’s nothing indicating that they were sent out. Also, the scholarship portal only has the freshman regents scholarship—not transfers.

I’ll admit, it is pretty odd. In mid February, I sent UCLA a bit of a roundabout email trying to glean information about how many people received the Alumni Scholarship email, whether it means anything this year like it did in previous years, as well as whether or not the Regents’ invites went out yet. I told them I was a prospective transfer student as well. They replied on February 15th, and pretty much ignored everything I asked them, and said that “I was not invited to apply for the Fall 2021 Regents’ Scholarship”. That led me to believe that the invites were already sent out.

Now that you mention it, though, since they basically ignored most of what I said in the email anyway, they might have missed the part where I said I was a transfer student, and may have mistook me for a freshman. If that’s the case, then it could be that the Regents’ invites for transfers haven’t come out yet, and that UCLA’s Scholarship Department is just bad at emails.

Honestly, I feel like that could be the case. I checked the thread from last year and it looks like the regents invites were sent out April 17th for transfers (one week before admission decisions).

If the Transfer Regents showed up on the scholarship portal it’d make more sense to assume they were released. I guess there’s no telling until people let us know they’ve received it or we’re right and they end up sending them out soon

I wish they were more open/announced these things on their official accounts. Playing the guessing game is so stressful.

There’s definitely been some sort of mix-up then. There’s no way they’d randomly sent out Regents’ two months early this year. Looks like we’re still in the running, then! If UCLA decisions come out on the 16th, perhaps we could expect to see Regents’ invites tomorrow or Friday?

This might be completely random but I feel like UCLA doesn’t actually read half of the email you send. I made a coursework mistake on my application and had to contact every campus that I was submitting a new TAU, and like all the other campuses were super responsive and kind and the person at UCLA was like “email admissions” and like rushed me to end the call. Same with when I emailed them after it was a copy paste of what the website says… I don’t know just a thought. Maybe that’s why there is so much confusion in this conversation.

UCLA Admissions emails do NOT pass the vibe check.

I think so too! It’d be awesome if invites came out this weekend.

So the post from the mother earlier was just for alumni? I think almost everyone got that invitation though no?

Thank you!

is there anyone here who didn’t get an invite to apply for the alumni scholarship?

I did not

Similar experience! They just throw those vague policies on the website to you with hardly any explains/colors. Why would we send that email if they has been clear enough! What a joke.

That’s the theory so far. Have you personally heard of any transfer student getting a Regents’ invite yet?

No. I don’t know anyone. To be fair they only have like ~40 spots. But even then, if you’re invited to apply that must mean more than 40 are getting an invite because some inevitably don’t end up with the scholarship. Surprisingly, not one person I know personally or online had gotten it other than that one vague mention two months ago so hopefully we’re still in the running.

I saw some answers on quora that said they released invitations around a week before admissions, while Berkeley sends them the week after. Based on last years thread they came out on the 17th which fits the bill. I would take it with a grain of salt, but here’s hoping we still have a shot.
