UCLA Financial Aid Summary

JetForce do these people that have low GPA’S get you nervous on this fin aid theory? do you think it might fail this time or we’ll be fine?

most people with low gpas are applying to unimpacted majors its not like we’ve been seeing anyone that sees financial aid with a 3.2 applying to bizecon with missing prereqs.

But then wouldn’t it just fail for those with relatively low GPAs? And those with above average GPAs still have quite a good shot? AND . . . GPA ain’t everything, especially depending on the major.

if it failed for just those with low gpas then the theory wouldn’t be indicative of anything.

hehe, “these people” cracks me up…

jetforce- i applied as women’s studies (eek… my mind/career path has drastically changed, so i plan to switch majors after quarter one, wherever i am). But i got into
UCSD as a Comm Major. But, I guess a 3.1 for Women’s Studies shouldnt worry you - they have an accpetance rate of like 66%… avg gpa of 3.1, so i’m sort of in a good boat.

check it: [UCLA Undergrad Admissions: Profile of Admitted Transfer Students by Major, Fall 2007](http://www.admissions.ucla.edu/prospect/Adm_tr/Tr_Prof07_mjr.htm)

correction: 62% // 3.3 gpa for women’s studies. lol…

i can see the same thing as amy…

Document tracking functionality is available only to continuing UCLA students and to admitted students, who have completed their Statement of Intent to Register (SIR).

The Financial Aid Office has not received your financial aid application (FAFSA) for the current academic year. We cannot determine your eligibility for financial aid without this information. To complete the FAFSA or check on the status of a submitted application go to: FAFSA - Free Application for Federal Student Aid.

“The Financial Aid Office has not received your financial aid application (FAFSA) for the current academic year.” – eek.

yeah i looked through your posts and thought you were applying to comm because i saw you got into ucsd for comm. you need a 3.5 just to apply to comm at UCLA so i thought our theory would be screwed haha.

edit:morethansunshine no one can see the document tracking thing until they get officially accepted. Can you see an award summary?

ah ha, i see the confusion. Wow, you can look out my posts? eeek. and 466 for you, jetforce?! holy smokes… and you’ve been on here for over 2 years?! wow, thats dedication.

but really, comm @ ucla is impacted, so i chose otherwise :)

people like you are needed on this forum jetforce. thanks again for the motivation and explanation! that takes away the nervosism that some are creating by doubting the theory.

i was here when i applied as a senior in highschool and stopped visiting until i decided to transfer from UCSB to a community college to another UC. That process takes alot of planning ahead and the information on this board was extremely helpful.

now everything’s cleared up… good job everyone :D

jet force whats your major and can you see the finaid? when do you predict we can get admited?

math/econ, yes, probably thursday? not that it matters what i think.

jetforce - that’s great you came across this board then! Good luck to you these next couple of days.

what are your stats chesser? can u see finaid?

no. on the financial column of ursa, the first button “View eFAN and Financial Aid Awards on MyFAO”, there should be a clickable button called “access” in the last column… the page header is Financial Aid Document Tracking, then it says that they didnt receive my FAFSA yet. but i can see the summary. No awards.

do you feel nervous that everyone is double thinking the fin aid theory or confident that your in?

amynic iam global studies 3.75 and yes I can see my finaid. lets hope for the best. so far ever since this finaid theory has been created it has never failed.

how exciting. By the way, I never filled out a FAFSA… But I still see the “Summary…” Or what I believe to be it:
Housing Status: On-Campus
Financial Aid File Status: Complete
Financial Aid Notification (FAN): Not Available
Cost of Attendance: $26,466.00
Student Contribution: $xxxx.00
Parent Contribution: $xxxx.00

Any comments?

theres no way you could have financial aid without filling fasfa. how do you expect them to get your efc?
