ucla fraternities

I was wondering how hard it is to get a bid for spring rush for typical ucla fraternities? I was/am planning on rushing for one or two maximum, but I will be attending most, if not all, of their events?

its very important that you show up to all of their events. you need to show the frat that you are interested. get to know as many guys as possible, because you might need them to speak on your behalf. thats about the gist of it. unless u have absolutely no social skills, you will prolly get a bid. but of course other factors are also in play. for example, certain rushees might get priority consideration than you because they already know some of the bros. that is why you need to get to know as many bros as possible.

if you tell me the frats you want to get in, i can try to give you a rough idea of who you should be extra nice to, etc.

lololol i remember when i rushed fall quarter… you can just walk in and ask someone for a bid and id almost guarantee that they’ll give you it. most of em just want pledges, no matter who they are.

That’s definitely not true, the only frats that give out bids to pretty much anyone are those that are desperate for new members and don’t have a large pool of rushees to choose from. That said, it’s easier to get a bid during spring than fall because spring rush in general is smaller and frats usually aren’t as selective.

You definitely don’t have to attend all the events. During fall I went to the first one, stayed there for a good amount of time, didn’t come the second day and during the third day got my bid. Just make sure to talk to enough bros so that they know who you are.

^what frat are you in?

AEPi (10 char)

when did you rush? were you in the same class as joe roth, eli rubin, sami kianmahd, and vlad (i wanna say lenin, but he already hates me enough)? or are you earlier?

are the frat parties open to all guys or do you have to be invited

got to be on the list bud. for the small ones, you got to know a bro or two in the frat.

are they every week? and how are they…

Not every week, usually every 2-3 weeks I think. Each frat also has their big “quarterly” party that is the biggest party of the quarter. Those are usually really sick, they go all out. Besides parties, you also have other party-ish events, like exchanges with sororities and raids (where sororities basically come to the house, you guys drink, then are bussed to some place and dance there).

rusoboy, you know any dudes from other frats?
