You should just ask them directly. They usually answer their emails pretty quickly. And if 250 get it, that's a pretty good number, especially considering the competition pool and number of scholarships offered for other scholarships...

I didn't get one though I received one from Cal (email).

Someone called last week and invited/reminded my son to apply for the Alumni Scholarship.

We were trying to figure out if they called everyone, but of course not, as that would be impossible. Have no idea why they called my son (but we hope it means that he's admitted:-) ).

Most people on this board will try to tell you that it doesn't mean admission, but I disagree. The best use of their volunteer hours is to call people who can benefit the most from itnamely, those who are admitted.

if your kid went to an alumni scholarship presentation and gave his/her phone number, then us alumni scholars will call him/her to apply regardless of acceptance status.

Thanks for the info! What do you discuss at an Alumni Scholarship Presentation?

thanks,
FresnoMom

'if your kid went to an alumni scholarship presentation and gave his/her phone number, then us alumni scholars will call him/her to apply regardless of acceptance status."

If you received a call without going to one of these presentations then does that signify anything regarding admission status?

We can use an essay we used for the UC essays for one of the prompts, right? They wouldn't know/get mad if we did this, right?
