I heard a VERY credible rumor that the UCLA decisions will be released at 3:00 PM. Has anyone seen any conformation of this or have an inside source? I'm dying.

They are coming out during late evening. I spoke to someone from admissions. Also, the supplements don’t mean anything – thats what I heard from the admissions counselor .
Ah now I’m losing hope. :/

^chill out. the admissions office isn’t supposed to tell you anything, so calm down.

wait should we log onto ursa? cuz I heard from past years, people who have gotten in, only had 2 columns close to the date of admissions

^I think they were not telling you the truth. Why else would they send you a supplement and waste the time reading it if they didn’t have at least SOME interest in you? Makes no sense. Just be positive, hope for the best, and prepare for the worst. Try to realize that stressing over something out of your control is not worth it :)

thanks everyone. i will try to calm down now.

I think I remember someone mentioning that decisions came out 5PM PST last year. Could be different this year, but you never know.

What supplement are you guys talking about

i got a supplement from ucb. it asked for a letter of recommendation and ask me about my mental illnesses that is affecting my studies. silly thing i dont have any illnesses. LOL but i did turn in the letter of recom.

um being completely serious here… what’s a supplement?

Some of the UCs send out supplementals asking for more information to a certain % of the overall applicants. So they sort the applications into three piles, accept, reject and needs more information. The "needs more information pile"usually consists of borderline students, students with a special talent or a disability. It’s basically one last opportunity to make your case why you are a good fit for their campus. I don’t know the numbers for UCLA but for Berkeley they had 61k applications and send out 3k supplements. They also asked for your senior year fall semester grades so if you continued to do well or improved it looked good. Berkeley also took a letter of recommendation.

@tspoonmom from what i read online, that 3k supplements sent out is the combined total of all the supplements sent out by all of the UC schools. So out of the 161k applicants to UC schools this year, only 1.86% received the supplement.

Wow I thought the 3k was just for UCB. That’s not very many at all considering how many applications were submitted this year.

@tspoonsmom, I know, when I found out about it I was pretty shocked, but then elated because I was under the assumption that about 30% of applicants get the supplement. I was so wrong. But yeah, I feel like this is pretty good considering, getting thrown on the supplement list for this year, the amount of applicants and competition.

supplements mean something
For me I will probably try to log on after 3 PM and then after 7PM
The system might be down in the afternoon i guess

How are we supposed to log on? I was never sent anything to create any kind of account.

I heard from a friend who goes to UCLA decisions come out starting at 5PM.

I have a same question as Emily 's.

To Emily and xixibai, I suspect that you can log on through their site once it’s open.
