UCLA General Talk Thread

@imnotfreud- when you apply for FA next year your Scholarship Reg Award will be replaced with a UC grant. If you run your cursor over Scholarship Reg on your ePAL it’ll say that.
Also, I’m not too sure about EOP so I googled EOP at UCLA and apparently there isn’t one? I found a thread from 2010. http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-california-los-angeles/898489-eop.html

does AAP offer priority enrollment by anychance?

Honestly if my tuition is paid the first year I just have to work full time and it will work out. If I get that UC Grant the second year I may venture to get a double major. By year 3 I should have enough money saved up to finish up.

@angie really? i got a scholarship recognition award and mine does not say that. it says that it’s good for this year but if i apply for FA again next year and I still continue to show significant need that I will be eligible for the award again.

bougie- yeea mine says that it’s a one year non-renewable scholarship and if i apply for FA on time next year with financial need, i’ll get a university grant.

^^ is what i get when i run my cursor over the scholarship reg award

I have a question about blue and gold and cal grant.

If I get a cal grant, that money is used towards my tuition, if I don’t, blue and gold will cover it. Do I still get the 14k academic achievement scholarship? (Even though my tuition will already be covered?) I read somewhere that blue and gold does not cover living or transport costs.

@freud, nope i don’t think you will, there is a cap to how much money you can receive, i have an efc of 00000 and i received that blue and gold cal grant and some other things, the scholarship recog was only for like 4,000, so i think they’d reduce it if you got the cal grant.

@freud, this is just an assumption though because uc irvine told me that 411, i don’t know if ucla is the same. but i’m assuming it’s a state wide thing.

@bougiebouche- i have an efc of 0 too. if you dont mind me asking, what was your net cost and how much loans did they give you in your package?

@angie i’ll pm you.

What’d you guys get for the “conditions of admittance”?

All mine said was “maintain the same gpa” and contact us if you get an EXCESS of C’s or any Ds or Fs.

Does this mean if I get 2 Bs and 2 As… I’ll be good?

None are major reqs…

@the pav
dont stress too much. so long as ur all B’s or better, with maybe 1 C, you’ll be fine.
Im in the same boat.

I got the same contract. Do you guys think a c in a prereq would kill my chances?

where do i check?

@ philo.
I’m sure it’s just a generic message. Everyone got it.

Just to make sure. Maintaining same GPA just means a 3.0 right?

@imunster ah okay thanks for clarifying. and u gotta maintain atleast a 3.0 GPA

my sister transferred to UCLA 2 yrs ago and she got a C in her pre-req so I’m sure it’s alright.

@mmsiphone

When and how do we go about attaining a letter of reciprocity?

I think i’ll just go down to cheadle and ask the academic advisors about it. I think they are the people that can help us. Luckily we can send our transcripts right from GOLD
