UCLA: Haven't gotten rejected yet!!

biochem, have u been admitted to SD?

My counselor today said that most people don't have Physics done.....

I work 30 hours a week..... I hope they take that into consideration, when i apply next year.

highschoolda, i didn't apply to UCSD. that was a bad bad move, i think. i should've applied to it along with LA, B and D. but both LA and SD seem so far from here, that i chose to apply to just one.

anyway... i got into davis, but davis is pretty lenient anyway.

Hang in there all of ya'll still in purgatory. Good luck man!

I got the same message today.

"We have received your application for Fall Quarter 2005 and are still in the process of reviewing it. There are still applicants for whom decisions have not yet been finalized. Please continue to check back."

...I keep reading it over and over trying to decipher some secret message that may be hidden in those three sentences.

Maybe it's saying:
"We have rejected your application for Fall Quarter 2005, but are still in the process of laughing at it. There are other applicants for whom rejections have not yet been finalized. Please continue to delude yourself."

Any clues?

That's funny, writingwell. I hope that isn't what it means. I'd write an alternative one, but what if UCLA adcom are secretly spying on us and reading our posts on college confidential. Maybe that is the extra criteria that they will use to ultimately accept or reject us. Therefore, I love you UCLA adcom!

Maybe we will be waitlisted? or are borderline admits?

I thought we must be borderline. I could be wrong. I doubt they will waitlist us because supposedly only half the decisions were released yesterday. I think that we must in some way be "special" because they did update us by taking out the late april part and acknowledging that other students have already received decisions.

still nothing :(

I'm just wondering how long they will take to send out the notifications for the rest of us? Now, what I want is just a decision! (I'm almost freaking out after hearing lots of rejections from this forum yesterday)

I'm still waiting, too. I was actually relieved to hear of all the rejections that happened yesterday -- at least we don't have to worry that they accepted everyone they were planning to accept yesterday and are waiting until the end to send out all the "rejects." Sounds like they are rejecting people as they go along!

I can't even start to predict my chances. I've had to wait so freaking long to hear back from these schools (and still waiting on UCSD) that I don't know how I can possibly go as long as mid-May waiting for a decision. Patience is a virtue, but give me a break. This is cruel.

This wait is killing me. Regardless of whether I get in or not, I just hope they end my suffering ASAP.

I wonder if those who have people in special programs pulling for them take longer to hear? I knew some guys who got in for various athletics and found out very late during high school.

Anyways, if I do get in, I am all ready to paint myself blue and gold in celebration!

still pending for ucla. SB took 22 days to tell me of my admittance, so i'm not expecting to hear from ucla until may 15th, hey maybe even may 10th if i'm lucky. Plus, i'll probably get the decision in the mail first anyway. That's what happened w/ SB. So why do i check the board? Because i have developed obsessive compulsive disorder now and it has become my daily routine. I have memorized the ucla still pending message. I still remember the UCSB one too. I really dislike this, but i really want to get into UCLA. At least no rejection means we're still in it!!!!! And the lakers didn't make the playoffs, so i have even more time on my hands...

UCSB did take forever. I guess for some reason I figured that since they told so many people at once, the rest of our decisions would arrive swiftly as well.

I feel like UCLA is just doing the same thing - sent out most of the notifications and will make the rest pending forever.

I had to wait for UCSB for a while and got rejected (i got in from high school, but couldnt go)... I was actually surprised since Im in the honors program, have a ~3.56 gpa... THe only thing that was against me is taht I was missing 1 stats class.... Do you think that could mean that I will get into UCLA?

You totally don't need to worry about that.
I didn't take any statistic class either, and they still let me in.
Also, I think 3.56 is a pretty good GPA for the transfer to UCSB.

Then why would they reject me?

Like all those guys discussed here - those stupid persons do this work 'RANDOMLY'!

Well, if I dont get into UCLA, I dont know what I will be doing, cause I only applied to 2 schools and the only reason I applied to UCSB is to have a "back-up", but I only want to go to UCLA.... I mean my friend has a 3.35 gpa and he got into Business Econ... Congrats to him, but I want to get in as well.... Ahh, I cant take the wait... I might as well go start on my appeal...
