I might have been too lazy to look around the site, but I just wanted to know if anyone else here is going.

I amm! Just found out last Saturday. I don’t think there is a thread btw. Are you staying on campus or commuting?

dangggg writergrl. stats ?
haha I got rejected

i got friggen rejected too but i am just taking classes at UCLA and getting a job instead.
i assume your talking about engineering right?

Yes engineering. Right alexcoconuts?
And stats?
I’m not sure what to tell you
Uh PSAT 213, GPA, I’m not sure about, Mostly A+s and 2Bs since freshman year? They don’t really calculate it for us, and we don’t have much weighting. 100W maybe?
Also, I’m sorry cyberchondriac and bensing12! Though I didn’t get into MITES, Clark Scholars, or CMU AP/EA so I’m certainly not wondergirl or anything

yes, engineering! and I’m staying on campus because it’s about an hour to an hour and a half commute, and I didn’t want to make that everyday. what about you?
I saw MITES and was going to apply, but my mom didn’t want me going that far/I didn’t think I had any chance of making it
and if you meant stats like how writergrl94 responded, I’m about the same - PSAT 210 (I like the ACT better - 33), all As in high school so far, 4.55ish weighted GPA. wish you guys could be there with us :(

well at least your not stupid people you seem like you deserve it and i am actually happier with my summer plans now since i am not living there and getting cash from my job (= but have fun

I wish you could too! But I’m glad you made other plans! And you might have had a chance! But I think UCLA will be more fun And we get to do research! MIT is closer for me though. (yes I’m staying on campus). Are you a boy or a girl? Also, I really want to get our packets soon!

nice! wow, you’re from far away! well, if you have facebook, find me! I’ll PM you.
so yeah, I’m a boy
we got the emails! I printed out my forms and I’m way excited.

and that’s great too! yeah, I definitely need some money and a job, but I guess that’ll have to wait and I’m stuck on campus for eight weeks, but hopefully it’ll be all right!

Haha I PMed you back. Also, I think this occasion merits a fbook group! Though it’s much too much work to make one lol

Wait what?!

Link? Requirements? Deadlines?! I do not know about this. =(

Anyone know if there’s still other great UCLA or another-UC-that’s-close-to-Los Angeles programs available?

[High School Summer Research Program — UCLA Engineering Office of Academic and Student Affairs](http://www.seasoasa.ucla.edu/high-school/high-school-summer-research-program)

It’s too late to apply, but you should apply next year if you still qualify. Besides that, I’m not sure if any summer programs in the area are still open for applying sorry, best of luck!

wait you guys, I heard the program has a group on facebook now? I can’t find it…
also do u guys have any idea if we will be identified before it starts on what type of engineering? (biomedical, electrical, etc.)

i mean, i know i put what i preferred on the application…

hmm, good thing I wandered over to college confidential today! I don’t know who you are, so if you haven’t found us yet, we’re here: [Welcome to Facebook](<a href=“Facebook - log in or sign up”>Facebook - log in or sign up)
it’s called “UCLA HSSRP 2010”

no, I think we find out the day of. my roommate already knows only because the other people in his group apparently e-mailed the professor, and the professor thought that he or she should let him know everything too. otherwise, I haven’t found out anything yet :P

Hey guys, I know this is extremely late, but would any of you be willing to share your experiences at the program? I’m thinking of applying for this year, but I’d like to know more if possible.

Is this program residential or commuter only?

I believe it’s residential. But it’s extremely competitive - 25-30 slots for 165 who applied. Soo…about 20% acceptance?

It’s both residential and commuter. If you commute, you get a small stipend, if you are residential, it’s free. I’d recommend living in the dorm!! It is way more fun that way,

hey former hssrper’s, could you tell me when the application came out last year? I don’t see it on the website yet, and I tried emailing but got no reply…
