i was looking thru the website and still cant get the application
it says its available but when i click on it, it says course is not accepting enrollment??

I think they’re saying the 2010 link is unavailable, so I guess they haven’t updated the website yet.

anyone apply this year?

I applied to HSSRP this year! It was my #1 summer program!! I hope to hear their decisions soon. Next week right?

Did anyone find out if they got in yet?

Jess, they said they will notify us tomorrow, May 13. =)

Ahh it’s May 13! But they extended the notification date. Still, did anyone get an email that said they were accepted? (because they’re beginning to notify people, according to the mass email)

yeah I got in. they sent me a message on the ucla site

Yes, same here. Have they send you the package polymathguy?

Congrats in your acceptance ;D

thanks you too.
I emailed the coordinator to mail it. hasn’t come yet.

Congratulations to the people who have been accepted so far! It’s a great program, and you’re going to have tons of fun while learning so much. And it’s like a hundred times better if you stay on campus :)

Let me or one of the other people on this thread who attended last year know if you have any questions!

which hall did you guys stay at?
and did you have roommates?

I’m so excited! I emailed the coordinator today to confirm my acceptance. I look forward to meeting you all!

@alexcoconuts
Thank you! Are you currently a senior, or in college now?
I plan to stay on campus, so that’s good. :] What did you do during the weekends?
What field did you do your research in?
hahah, so many questions.

@alexcoconuts: did you, besides the research, where in a way taught to new material. By that I mean, let say, Calc III, or linear algebra, or some sort of that? What can of math background I should have?

To the ones admitted, can you 't tell me if u got a package. I haven’t receive any.

And congrats. Any facebook group with this? If not…who makes one ;D

I don’t think theres a fb group yet.
you guys can add me though cause we’re bound to be room mates or suitemates.
James Park
picture is me riding a bike in a forest/park

Same here…we should make a fb page, so we can get to know…and a have clue of who we are before we meet in a month.

Enrique Alberto Segura Carrillo…guy in front of an old building…that is Caltech’s admission building… ;D

@polymathguy, we stayed in Rieber Hall last year, but that’s always subject to change. it was newly remodeled and we were the first to stay in the new rooms, so it was really nice. All of us stayed in triples. If you get in, you may want to meet people on Facebook or email them beforehand, if you don’t think that’s creepy, haha. I met my best friend that way and we were roommates and now we’re going to Yale together!

@jess648, congratulations, you’re going to have an awesome time! I’m currently a senior heading to Yale in the fall. During the weekends, you’re free from lab work, so we just hung around Westwood and went to Santa Monica, LA, the Getty, and more. I live fairly close to LA too, so I went home some weekends. And I was part of Materials Science and Engineering! but my roommates were in mech. and civil, so you’ll be with all sorts of people.

@astua, not really. there really wasn’t advanced knowledge of math required, at least not for me. I took calculus before the program but never used it, although I imagine a few of my friends might have. nothing more complicated than simple derivatives and integrals, I would say :)

go make a facebook page! we made one last year but only posted like five times, literally. maybe you all will be more active, haha.

Good luck to you all today, I wish all the best for you! Keep the questions coming, too!

How do you check to see if you got in? I haven’t gotten any emails or anything. Do you have to check on the UCLA CCLE site thing?

@kevinkyukim
You have to check on your UCLA account. There should be a reply under “Application Files”.
