UCLA high school summer theatre programs?

Hi, I'm interested in applying for the six-week theatre program at UCLA next year. I wantes to know if other people had been to it, what they thought of it, and so on. Also, I was interested in the NYU summer program as well, so if someone can either tell me about that or compare the two?

I went to UCLA summer sessions two years ago, and while I didn’t do the acting program, about 50% of kids living on my floor did. It’s a pretty big time commitment (something like 6-8 hours every week day), but if you love theater it’s a great experience. This was my understanding of how the program works. The first few weeks are focused on acting exercises and developing skills (including tai-chi!). Then, after about the second week, you split up into 4 groups and start working on your end of session performance, entirely created by the students. I attended the performance and thought it was really high quality and deep (sometimes too deep). Overall, my friends really liked it.

Plus, living at UCLA for summer sessions as a high school student is an amazing learning experience, academically and socially. For the first time, we had complete freedom --there’s no curfew or anyone telling you what to do. Westwood is fantastic and has great restaurants. Plus, there’s a decent party scene  I made great friends with other high school students and college students and feel a lot more prepared for college. So I definitely recommend it.

awesome thanks so much!! i’m DEFINITELY going to look into it a lot more :)
