UCLA History/Anthropology transfer

Hello to all! This is more or less the breakdown of my stats:

Major: History (alt. major: Anthropology)
GPA: 3.4
Major GPA (if it matters): 3.75
IGETC completed by Spring
Will be TAP certified
Various EC's, including volunteering at UCLA's Fowler museum

Also my professors have agreed to look at my personal statement and proofread/criticize.

Any and all responses are greatly appreciated!

You have a super high chance of being accepted into UCLA. Your TAP alone boosts you up to 90% guarantee…that and the fact that your GPA is alright for a History/Anthro major, you should be good to go. I wouldn’t worry about it.

Thanks for the reply! Although I always thought a 3.4 was pretty low for pre-History at UCLA…can anyone else shed some light and share some of their thoughts? And how about if I weren’t TAP certified?

Hey guys, I’m just a little worried.

I’m thinking of applying as a Pre-History major at UCLA. I currently have 1 of the 3 pre-reqs completed, and I have a 4.0 GPA. I won’t be TAP certified, but I will finish IGETC by Spring.

If I finish the remaining two pre-reqs during the Winter, will I be okay for acceptance?

I got in with a 3.5 without Tap (History Major). Just make sure you finish IGETC and your pretty much golden with a 4.0. In terms of the 3.4 you should* still be fine but its cutting it pretty close. In terms of your major gpa, it doesn’t matter at all. In terms of EC’s, I had nothing besides work experience but I’m not really sure how substantial EC’s are when they decide who gets in or not.

If your really worried, you can always talk to a UCLA counselor, I know they visited my CC like 1-2 times a semester.
