UCLA Honors Application

In case anyone's interested, the status of the UCLA honors application has been updated.

Dunno how much of a surprise the results are going to be for anyone, though, since everyone knew his GPA going in.

i'm in.

I'm not sure if I want to do it... But if it's only two honors classes by the end of the year, then maybe I will. I spoke to several former UCLA students, they said the honors classes were a joke (no different from the regular ones). But then again, these people graduated at the top 2 to 5% of the class...

I'll talk to the counselor, that should help a little.

Why don't you just sit in an honors class for a day and get a taste for it yourself.

Status: APPROVED

I really only want to be able to say "graduated from UCLA with honors," so I'll have to ask about the various options available before I commit.

from what i know there is a variety of honors classes that work like seminars... no matter what you do you will end up having to take an upper div seminar in your major anyways and those courses are the ones you will walk away with having the most enjoyment.

Honors is worth it for the priority enrollment too.

so if we got accepted we get to register earlier then right?

We probably don't get to take advantage of our priority enrollment until next quarter since all of us new transfers don't get to register before our orientation sessions.

in in also ... but should i continue?

Don't plan on taking any Honors courses during your first quarter. I looked up the honors courses they offer in the fall and nearly all but a couple are full or cancelled.

what exactly is the difference between a lecture and a seminar anyways?

all the good classes are full... too many students..
