UCLA Honors Program questions

I am going to UCLA next fall and i am deciding whether or not to do the honors program. If anyone could anwser these questions i would really appreciate it :)

How beneficial this would be for the future?

How much more difficult are honors classes then regular classes at UCLA?

Is is worth it?

Thanks!

BTW, if you were in the honors program at you community college, you can roll over some units...

Honors program students get priority in enrolling...which is great becuase its a WHOLE WEEK earlier than seniors.

If plan on going to Grad school Honors can either help you or hurt you. I would recommend if you don't feel strong enough to get the best of grades in honors don't sacrifice your GPA for grad's

I remember reading in the UCLA forum that they'll kick you out of the honors program if you go 3 quarters without taking an honors class. The good part is that you've essentially had 3 free quarters of priority enrollment

I would recommend it... you don't know how much more competitive it will be when you apply. And you'll get the advantage despite the competition because of TAP.

i just applied for priority enrollemnt!!i hope you are right!

i also applieddd

the enrollment is the biggest benefit.

The difficult of classes depend on prof, as usual.

Do the classes fulfill any other requirements besides the 8 units of honors classes?

I wasn't planning on joining the Honors Program because I didn't want to take any additional classes, but I didn't know that you get priority registration. Shoot, I will join it just for that perk. Are you guys sure that joining the program and then being kicked out of it is not reflected on transcripts?

It will not be mentioned until you graduate, so if you get kicked out, it will be as if you were never part of it. Additional benefit for honors is that you get to have your graduation ceremony inside a building whereas the "normal" people get to do it in the boiling weather on June.

Really? Could you imagine telling someone you joined the honors program so your graduation would be air conditioned? lol That's kinda cool though. I think I am just going to join to get priority enrollment and then go from there. thanks for the info!

Think of it this way. 90% of TAP applicants are accepted from my CC. You will see similar stats at all CC's. It's worth it.

We are talking about the honors program at ucla not tap
