^^ I emailed the Ask Housing people about that...but judging by their previous answers it probably wont' be too helpful

Hey, do you guys get guaranteed housing for the summer quarter following your first schoolyear? And would I be able to request EE majors to be my roommates (so I won't be studying while they're having fun)?

^^ I don't think it guarantees summer...the contract is for september to june. I don't know if majors play a role in roommate selection..there wasn't a section on the app for it. in fact, the housing app was ridiculously short. I wish it did though. I think I will get along more with sciene/engr. majors than english majors...

yea, I might not study as much if I was around people who didn't need to study a lot.

You know.. it just crossed my mind.. it would so suck to end up with roomates who snore a lot...

or fart a lot...

For those that applied for UCLA housing, did you guys all put down on-campus housing on your fafsa?

yea I put on-campus housing...hehe...

Wow, that was fast.

I need to call UCLA and see if they can consider me for on-campus housing but yet not change my status to on-campus under fafsa since I might go to UCSD or UCB.

Do I have to submit SIR before filling out the housing ap? I can log in just fine, but wonder if I should contact UCLA financial aid first. I hope the waitlist isn't long already.

I finally found which complex has the fitness room, Glenrock West. Which complex did you apply to, Citan?

ee_stu: you can't pick complexes....you can only pick facility type (uni apartments, residence halls etc.) and room type (1 bedroom, 3 occupants etc.) UCLA has a great gym and Im sure you can get in glenrock from other apartments too...

You're right. Lucky for me, I'm filling out the ap right now and it looks I can pick a housing theme, "Fitness and well being."

But I noticed that the facility type drop down menu listed "University Apt" as Off-Campus. What does this mean?

ah...i picked academic...i figure I can always bring my dumbells or go to the gym

it means that univ. apartments are considered off campus heh

Lol, I mean off campus for financial aid right?

I better not forget!
