UCLA student residents have more space to live, learn, and experience campus life thanks to the opening of two new residence halls. With the completion of Hedrick Summit and Rieber Vista, UCLA increased its on-campus housing inventory by more than 1,350 bedspaces. As a result, upper division third and fourth year students will be able to live on campus this Fall.

Flopsy I had the same thought. I got (and accepted) a housing offer a few weeks ago, and was honestly not expecting to get one, considering that I'll be a 4th year. Granted I was a transfer student, but they only guaranteed me 1 year of housing at the start.

Even with the two new buildings, with the closure of Sproul next year I wonder if there will in fact be enough room.

They're closing down Sproul Hall? It makes little sense to renovate the Sproul front desk just to close down the entire building the following year...

As far as I understand Sproul will be empty next year for a full renovation. I agree it does seem strange they bothered with the front desk just to redo the entire building.

i heard 2010 was when the guarantee would be in effect. it makes sense, if you consider 06-07 for sproul, and then 07-08, 08-09, and 09-10 for the other three residence halls.
