UCLA Housing Offers are out!!!

UCLA Housing offers are out!!! Unfortunately, I got a triple in Sunset. If anyone has something in Rieber Terrace, Rieber Vista, or Hedrick Summit and want to trade, let me know and we can arrange a switch. I hope to God I can switch. At least out of a triple or something. In any case, please post up your offers.

i got a triple in rieber vista.

triple in reiber terrace

triple reiber vista

please trade with me some of you vista people. i will provide monetary compensation. please!!!

I got Reiber Vista, no room assignment yet though. It looks a an on-campus residence hall for upper division students. I thought I applied for off-campus university apartment (I only selected apartments from the drop down menu on the app)?

Spicy Roll, I'm planning on renting off-campus privately with a fellow CC'er. Know how I can give you my space (when I find out what my room assignment is) before I decline their offer?

EDIT: I won't take any monetary compensation.

Quadruple in Gay Bondage.

Single in Rieber Vista...I wanted a freakin 2 bed 4 ppl apartment which is one of the cheapest and they gave me one of the most expensive...

btw Citan, my friend who applied for univ apt doubles also got a triple in rieber vista. Do they even CONSIDER the preferences!? If not, don't make us waste our time writing it down.

ee_stu: I have no clue yet. I believe you'd have to accept the housing offer and then there's a transfer period at the beginning of the month. Thanks for the offer. I'll find out and PM you. I wouldn't want to have you pay for the fees or anything like that so maybe i can work it out so I use my credit card and then get reimbursed when you cancel.

If anyone else wants Sunset Village and has a triple in Vista or Terrace please let me know and I believe we can arrange a trade during the open transfer period.

bfired2: yea they dont' consider ****...tell me if you want to room togehter....1 bedroom apartment near UCLA goes for 1200-1300....so like 650/month not bad...

I wasted not only time but the $30 application fee that would have been better spent towards the transfer orientation fee.

Spicy Roll, PM me if you find out anything. The Sunset Village looks boring. At least Rieber Vista or Terrace has a fitness center or restaurant.

the price is RIDICULOUSLY HIGH...11K...and only for around 9 months...**** UCLA

i dont understand how the price is that high? I mean a university apartment is like 5-6k...wouldnt apartments be MORE expensive?

Also, is anyone going to try to get out of their builidings/rooms? I think i am pretty much just going to stick with what i got i guess just because if the wait to switch rooms is too long i dont want to be moving all my stuff around once ive already settled in.

Yea, the apartments should be more expensive since it has a kitchen also. Other than that, ammenities are almost the same between UCLA off-campus apts and on-campus residence halls. So is it the meal plan that makes residence halls so expensive?

"wouldnt apartments be MORE expensive?"

They don't come with a meal plan or some of the other niceities of a dorm.

I got Rieber Vista triple. I guess they dont look at preferences. I had Univ Apps and doubles. And I got a resident hall. Oh well, let the socializing BEGIN!

the funny thing is the on campus housing in 2002 was like 7K...how the **** do you go up 4K in 4 years...

i swear...all transfers got triples cuz nobody else wanted them. also i dont know about all of you but i would much rather have the privacy, living area and kitchen of a univ apartment than a damn dorm room with freshmen.

I think I know the reason...UCLA for some reason decided to built residence plazas for upper division students...and regardless of preference stuffed them all in there...then what the hell was the point of the DAMN APPLICATION? I wasted 30 bucks....im seriously ****ed...it would have been okay if the price increase was 2-3K I could have handled that...but it's almost double!!!!

The privacy of a Univ Apartment would have been great, way better then a Triple but at least the Halls are new. I guess its a great way to get to know people but for a whole year? Oh well what can you do right?
