UCLA Housing

Hi everyone,

My friend and I will be transferring to UCLA this fall and where wondering how choosing off campus housing (university apartments, because they're cheaper) would affect our financial aid. Would they lower our financial aid to balance the change in housing?

Additionally, what housing do you all recommend? I was looking at the plazas, although they're a bit pricey.

Thanks! :)

Go to UCLA’s website and find their student budget (it’s very easy to find) and just check the amount of $ they allocate as financial need for off-campus housing (I don’t think it’s less by much more than a couple grand, if that).

I for one, am desperately trying to find nearby off-campus housing options if UCLA transfer housing is as bad as I hear it is…the thought of a tripple the size of a bedroom is nauseating to me…let alone having to share communal bathrooms, etc.

Thanks! I’ll look into the student budget, I saw only able to find the price of the housing.

A friend of mine transferred there last year and by luck knew a friend who knew someone who needed a room mate. She says that it’s incredibly hard to find off campus housing, so she’s doing on campus this year.

Good luck!
