UCLA Housing

I thought I'd create a housing thread for UCLA students to swap dorms. We can also discuss the dorms and ask each other general questions regarding moving in too.

I got a triple in De Neve Plaza, but would like a double in De Neve Plaza/Holly/Gardenia, Sproul/Sproul Cove/Landing, or Rieber Terrace.

I got a triple in De Neve. Looking to swap to double in De Neve!

Very unlikely anyone is going to swap their doubles for a triple.

Got a triple w/ shared bath in Reiber Terrace… assy

Are you allowed to party in the dorms?

@Gunnnn‌

I got that too. :P

I might just be your r0ommate. :P

@Cayton Almost everyone on here got that offer, including me. Chances are that some of us CC users may end up sharing a room.

@CollegeDropout1‌

But they’ll never realize it >:)

I’ve now come to the conclusion my daughter got relegated to the outer Siberia of Hitch because she never came up on this site. %-(

@lindyk8‌

lol, I didn’t even hear about Hitch until you mentioned your daughter getting it. It must be pretty far and isolated. :P

Nah, but I’m sure she’ll be fine. I’ve heard that Hedrick is where you don’t want to go.

I have a double in rieber, but I want a double in sproul hall or cove or landing

@cayton actually hitch is right across the street from yours and kind of up about half a block. It’s across from Hedrick. It’s mainly that it’s further up the steep hill that is the hardest part. And there isn’t a hall, as the doors all open to the outside walkway. But they just added a student lounge (they didn’t have one before) so that should help a lot, because there wasn’t much opportunity to mingle before. It’s got a living room and is quieter, both pluses but a little harder to socialize. But ppl live off campus, in campus apts, etc and it all works out. And it’s just newly remodeled.

Anyone know anything about Hendrick Summit? I hear that it has a mix of people, but I get the feeling that few transfers end up there.

I got a triple in Rieber too; I’m still deciding whether I should take or try to commute (I live about 16 miles away). What meal plans are you guys going to pick.

@jmiclun‌

ehhh, commuting to UCLA is not the business. It’s a pain in the ass, really.

I picked the 19 meal plan.

Yea ive hated having to commute back and forth to my cc so fighting with 405 traffic wouldn’t be ideal for me even if I lived 16 miles away I was thinking about getting the 14p meal plan

I’m thinking of commuting twice a week for six weeks for the summer session and live 30 minutes north and I’m dreading doing that. UC campuses all seem pretty bad for commuting (by car).

That sounds dreadful, ugh!

What are the penalties if you are caught with alcohol or a controlled substance? Can you get evicted?
