Those of you attending UCLA this fall... what are you guy going to do for housing? Is it best to just a get some roomates and rent an apartment?

can't imagine somebody passing up a transfers only dorms and the convenience of living on campus

theres a transfers only dorm??

im going to stayin university aparments

transfer only housing, not sure if its res hall or apartment. can't imagine they would stick us with freshman students (18 yr olds, lol)...

really? what is it called do u know? cuz i have been looking at the housing options and i never saw anything specifically for transfer students only?

There aren't any "Transfer Dorms" per se... only a dorm where they just happen to group the transfers. Sproul, one of the more popular res halls is closed next year though for a refurb, so many underclassmen moved into other dorms... a lot of my freshmen friends who will be 2nd years will be living in Hedrick Summit and Reiber Terrace next year, where they house the transfers.. since they opened I mean. So yeah... you'll be around mostly transfers.

not sure, but i plan on calling sometime next week. lol ;)

I filled out the housing application and sent it in, I definatly want the dorm (resident halls) experience.

hmm im not sure ...im torn between the campus apartments and the resident halls..

So they assign us roomates? What if like we end up with a stoner or something.. lol

Well you can specify you dont want people that do drugs and so on.

I want university housing but i ahve to have a single because sharing a room creeps me out and changing in front of people and so on, because i was sexually abused as a child so that relaly is not something that i could handle emotionally.

Anyhow i did put that in one of the sections .. but i dont know if they will actually consider that, if not i guess i am screwed.

I believe if you don't like who you're rooming with or where you're living, you can talk to housing about it and they'll try to accomadate you so long as there's space somewhere else.

Sorry to hear that man... I'm glad you got through it safely.

Thankyou, .. but do you think they would take that into consideration.
i mean i know it sounds silly but i am not lying, i actually do have issues with stuff like that...

if they say you are guranteed transfer housing, and you only listed single dorm/single studio apt on your application , are you then guranteed one of those choices?

^I'm not sure bro. But your situation should definately get you what you want. No worries.

:) i hope so

Does anyone know how long after we apply for housing it takes to hear about housing???

Bump (circa 2006)

Lol, really had this complusion to do this.

Can you apply for housing if you have not been admitted yet?

lol^ why on earth would they ever let you do that
