UCLA doesn't have any single rooms right? I was checking out their website, but I wasn't sure.

yes it does.
there are a select few singles in dykstra hall, there are RA singles, and there are single suites in the new plazas.
the suites are physically smaller rooms, and are generally lived in by sophomores/juniors.

if you're asking if there are any singles LEFT, that's another issue

When do people tend to be eligible for RA? Junior/Senior exclusive or open to sophomores as well? It might be an incentive to live on campus =X

Sophomores have been known to become RAs. It's not as common though.

I've spoken to some RAs and it seems that they were heads of floor government for 1-2 years or did similar activities with housing.

Obviously there are no singles left; they have been occupied by 2nd years and up.

As for the singles that housing reserved for freshman, I believe there should be no more than 5 per building (counting plazas as a building collectively).

Therefore, chances of a single for a freshman is ~0.0434%.

You have to be very involved in the office of residential life to become a RA. Very very few second years are RAs, those that are chosen are, well, 1. a reaosn i won't repeat because I don't want to be politically incorrect, or 2. rare, extraordinary characteristics they somehow see. most RAs are third years and have been involved in floor governemnt year 1, and a student leader year 2.

if you're incoming freshmen and want to be an RA someday, become a move in assistant, and get started with the office of residenntial life DAY 1! the second i moved in, i was. now i'm a student leader at year 2.

all the political garbage taht you have to probably go through to become an RA is just not worth it. i think my building has a floor government and the extent of their responsibilities extends to attending the weekly (monthly??) meetings or "organizing" that one building activity that I usually miss cause of class
