UCLA housing

I'm pretty confused on how this whole process works. I just submitted my SIR, and I got an email recently stating:

"We have not received your housing application and $30.00 non-refundable application fee. In order to be guaranteed housing, you must submit the application and fee by 4:00 p.m. on 06/01/2010. Postmarked dates will not be considered."

So im assuming this is for on campus housing, does this still apply if I wanted to live off campus? I'm also planning on using uloop.com to find an apartment, is this for on-campus and off campus? Idk how this whole process works, I was hoping someone would enlighten me.

Obviously they can’t stop you from getting an apartment off campus.

So your saying that the message only applies if you want to do on campus housing?

Yes, or anything related to the university (I assume university owned apartments would still be the same deal). If you get an apartment that has no relation to UCLA, then it has no relation to UCLA. UCLA does not restrict access to getting apartments in Los Angeles. Plenty of people live in Los Angeles and Westwood that do not attend UCLA.

^ just curious do you go to ucla?

Currently deciding between UCLA and Berkeley! Leaning towards UCLA though.

niceee, so if you do end up going to ucla, are you planning on living on or off campus?

Definitely on for me. I’m transferring from another UC school and have had experience living both on and off campus. I met waaaay more people when I lived on campus than off.

You need to log on to housing website and reject their offer if you plan on living off campus.
