I was surprised to see this when I went to the UCLA website today....HSSEAS (engineering) is accepting applications. What could be the reason for this? they didn't fill up their quota?

um, yeah they were doing this i think 4 years ago.

Egineering has one of the most prereqs which is harder complete than most of other majors. therefore if a student takes two years and one semester to complete the prereqs, it's really a waste of time them to stay for two more semester/quarters.

My friend transferred to UCLA 3.5 years for winter as a pol scie major. they used to allow it. But, b/c of budget cuts they don't anymore.

It's just the physics at most ccc takes about a year and half to complete. And i hear problems with availablity of classes.

it's really a good thing that they did. I'd like to see that expand to life and physical sciences. Any major that has 40+ units of specific prereqs.

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
THIS IS REALLY GREAT NEWS!!!!
this means very much to me and im sure for a lot of ppl because i had to take my first semester off because of work and it allows me to transfer in 1.5 years, not in two and thus the assurance to get my BS in 2.5 years from the time i transfere. definitely great news!!!!!!!

now my question is. is that going to be for this academic year only???? or is some sort of academic policy change that is supposed to be permanent

come on ppl, somebdoy has to be trying to go to UCLA!!!

why do you care? just apply if you want to go to UCLA

it's probably not permanent

because i will apply on winter 2008, thats 1.5 years from now
